Hello,

 

I'm getting married at Azul Beach on October 15, 2011 and just wanted to thank everyone for all the great information available on this forum.  I'm hoping to have the ceremony on the Sky Terrace which I was informed may be opening in August of the this year but based on what I've read they are a bit behind with the constuction so I'm getting a little nervous. 

 

As far as the vendors, I recently learned that they only allow outside photographers - no other vendors.  I was really upset to learn this because I wanted hire DJ Dormixx for the reception but was told I couldn't.  Did anyone else encounter this problem?

Hey!  We all had that problem with the DJ's and was able to get it overridden, but i think it may have to do with when we booked our weddings.  good luck!

I am pushing hard for outside DJ's since the reviews are so poor but I a having a hard time with this as well which is crazy to me.

I also have a few potential brides to be coming to my ceremony who will be watching to see how things go - so hopefully AB will wise up and either widen their acceptable DJ list to include Mania & Doremixx or simply allow for a fee.  Here's hoping, would be a bummer if they left a bad taste in our mouth for something they could totally rectify.

 

From what I hear this is all Lomas - they are very hard to deal with regarding changes which is why the Azul properties have this reputation vs other properties.  Hopefully, they will rectify this or I think it will really hurt them in future.

Let me know how things go. I am willing to pay the vendor fee so it just doesn't make sense that the fee only applies to photography.

Hello Azul Beach Hotel Brides!!

 

I am back and had an AMAZING wedding! Azul Beach Hotel is a FABULOUS resort and I know you and your guests will LOVE it! I am not on this site much but let me know what questions you have and I will write you back as soon as I can.  We looked at over 10 resorts when we did site visits and Azul Beach is by far the best resort out there that I saw! Everyone raved about how wonderful the resort and wedding was. It is small and intimate which is GREAT! Here are just a couple of photos that my friends took...Still have tons more to get from our guests and we should have our professional photos on July 4th and our video shortly after.

911 Calling all AB Brides!  DJ Situation...Has anyone used DJs other than Doremixx & Mania and were happy with them.  If so, please respond here as there are many of us who are SOL and need our sisters to come through...Thanks, the yet to be's - just posted this in the Sensatori thread as well, thinking the wider I cast this net the better
