What about those plastic (often colourful and ugly ) resort bracelets??

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

Just wondering what you plan to do or have done on your wedding day with the bracelets that the resorts make everyone wear on their wrists as ID. At our resort, they let the bride and groom take theirs off on the wedding day, but wedding couple only - not the groomsmen or bridesmaids. Call this my one wedding quirk, but I cannot stand the thought of seeing those wrist bands in my wedding photos! I have seen some pics where the girls each had their own costume jewelry bracelets that they just put over to cover. Anyone do this?? Did it work well? But then what about the guys?? I'm wondering what the resort would do if my entire wedding party just accidentally "lost" or "ripped" their wrist bands...I wonder if there's a replacement fee? Any ideas appreciated! Thanks :)

I was a BM in my cousin's wedding at the Bavaro Princess (DR).  We cut ours and saved them, without even asking.  Next day we just went to the front desk with the cut one and asked for a new one, explaining that we were in a wedding.  It was not a problem.  Maybe if you don't ask, then you can plead ignorance? :)  Unless they have a very clearly written policy in the contract you signed or something...

The chunky bracelet idea sounds great, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Hmmmm that's good to know - I wasn't expecting the resorts to be so flexible on just cutting them off and asking for replacements for the wedding party. I'll look into that a bit more at my own resort but will probably ask my MOH and BM to bring a chunky bracelet just incase. Thanks!
