Wedding Co-ordinators Jamaica - the good, the bad and the ugly!

Hello to All,

 

We are getting married this September and we really need a planner to fulfill our rather unique (we think anyway) wish list.

 

WCs & Experiences thus far...

 

HelenG - after taking several days to respond to my intial contact email, she has yet to respond to my reply (this has been about 10 days now).

 

Wedding Belles - seems great & thorough but works from home as a WC on the side, fees seem quite high and cannot find independent reviews on her.

 

Weddings in Jamaica - Told me they didn't deal with couples that weren't american or canadian. Odd. I am English, fiance Jamaican.

 

Sunny Villa Holidays - Rimma - quite insulting of my future mother in law, too informal (friendly important but still need to be professional!) and thought that our choice in villa was rubbish without explaining why. This is our choice and she should either support it or give valid reasons as to why it isn't a good location. Clearly it was because it is cheaper than some others hence her commission would be less?

 

Half Moon - We have stayed here a couple of times and LOVE it. Unfortunately they are just too expensive.

 

Have emailed a few others but they are yet to get in touch with me.....

 

Any advise or recommendations?

 

 

We are having a villa wedding in Runaway Bay on 7th September approx 50 guests and want the works!

Oh wow! You were told she didn't work with couples unless they were American or Canadian? How insulting! Did you ask why? The only one left I could think of would be Ari.

Thanks ladies, I can confidently say that I contacted almost everyone!  But we have found someone that we think will be fabulous an has already put in so much time and effort and I know will make our very random wishlist a reality.

 

It's that much harder having so much experience in the industry and knowing so many vendors that talk the talk. In fact I often find that those that are too full of themselves are the ones that don't deliver.

 

We will see but this lady seems to think like me so that's a good start!
