For receipts, are these receipts for things you are buying while down there? Or things you are bringing with you?

Bring receipts for anything that you are bringing their with you.  If customs stops you they can put any price on the items and tax you based on that.  We had no problems, but have heard others in the past have.

We just returned from Jamaica (RIU Ocho Rios) and had taken our own starfish down that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby. 

We had no troubles at all.  I even carried the large one on the plane with me while going to Jamaica and had checked it on the way home.  We also had several bottles of Appleton rum and Sangster rum cream that we checked in our luggage and brought home.  No issues what so ever.

I just bought my starfish from the Christmas Tree Shop! A Pack of 6 for $1.99.. Geesh!! I love that store! They have sand dollars, small starfish and large star fish!!
