Looking for an amazing travel agent to help us book our honeymoon in Italy!

Hi there!

 

We are in desperate search for a fabulous travel agent who can help us book our honeymoon in Italy.  We are not looking for a trip that is too "scheduled" but want to visit multiple cities - Florence/Tuscany, Rome, Almafi Coast/Positano.  We have tried booking on our own, but it's just been overwhelming.

 

Ideally, we would like something a little more customizable. We love the idea of a cooking class and wine tours in Tuscany, we want to visit the top sites in Rome and we want to hike and relax on the Almafi Coast. We want to stay in 4 star/5 star hotels and are looking to stay for about two weeks (end of May/early June)

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a fabulous TA who is helping me with my wedding in Mexico, but she only has options for guided, set tours.

Hey there, Can I give you some options to try and book on your own?? Only because I have been to Italy multiple times and know the good places to book. If you want to do tuscany area with cooking classes and wine tours are you willing to have a rental car while your there?? If so there is a beautiful reserve in the tuscan hillside its just like out of a movie, its called Riserva di Fizzano we stayed there for five nights and loved it!! also I would recommend going to Cinque Terre google it. If there is anywhere i could visit every year that would be it. Its  probably my favorite place i have ever been and I have been to almost everywhere in the world! thanks for your thoughts - what i am really struggling with is building a multi-city trip, at a reasonable cost. travel agents come in handy there! just trying to find one who doesn't have packages that are too scheduled/packed with hour-by-hour tours and activities.

My original plan was to honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast and Rome.  I spent HOURS searching Internet sites and books and agree it is overwhelming.  There are so many small boutique hotels or inns.  And since some are geared toward European guests, they have minimum stay requirements which don't jive with the typical American multi city tour.  Now I think we are scrapping the idea - not because of the coordination issues, but because flight prices are ridiculous!  I think we will honeymoon someplace else and maybe retry this again in 2012 during the off season.

 

I haven't used a travel agent in years and was going to use one my friend used but she didn't have a good experience.  Once the trip was booked, she could never get her to respond, she had to hound the woman for the travel documents the week before the trip AND found out one of her connecting flights was before the other one landed and another flight was canceled - if she hadn't of checked everything on her own she would have been screwed.  The trip worked out OK and she was happy, but it caused a lot of undue stress beforehand.

I am wanting to do the same thing a few months after our wedding- I wish there was a site that built the trip exactly how you wanted it!

Italy is AMAZING!!!!  We too have looked at multiple places on one trip and I think we will just break it down into trips over multiple years in order to really get to see each place.  GOOD LUCK!
