Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas 2011 Wedding

I am having my ceremony on the beach, and a sem-private reception at the steakhouse. We rented out the disco after dinner. I need to figure out how to add lights to the disco-I think it is quite dark When are your wedding dates? Mine is Nov 10!

ps-did you both already send in your checklists? I find that some of the information-I can't fill out yet! Oh-and I booked the rehearsal dinner at the mexican restaurant. So far I have sent out STD's, booked a photographer (Gilda Badillo) and makeup/hair (Suzanne Morel). I agree that planning the travel is a PAIN. Because we have people coming from all over the place, we are just going to do a group booking of the hotel rooms, and everyone has to book their own flights. The package deals didn't leave on the dates we wanted to go.

 

Now I am working on designing invites, looking at bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen wear. How is everyone else doing in their planning?

 

Also-do you know what we do about the all inclusive bracelets on the day of the wedding?

Ours is Sept 21, 2011.  @ 4pm.  we also would like the steak house semi private but are trying to figure out the menu. 

 

Have they shared with you the options of food for the steak house?

 

I am confused they tell me the semi private dinner is included but then send me a menu with prices.

We did the same...booked the hotel for group rate and then everyone will book their own flights.  Also because they did not have dates for both to coincide with our wedding date.

we were able to get a wedding discount through west jet though for the flights...they gave us a promo code and our guests just call them ...tell them the code and get a discount.

 

We booked the San Jose gazebo.

 

Is Suzanne doing your hair and makeup...are you being charged extra for the makeup?

I got the Westjet code too! I believe I have a hair and makeup package, I can't remember the cost! I think she has pricing on her website, it isn't cheap! I've heard good things about her though and she is only 5 minutes away from the Riu.

Yes we are having our gazebo location symbolic service and then having the reception at the Mexican restaurant on the terrace location. The pictures that ive seen look great for the terrace location with the backdrop being the water and rock formations! Our rehearsal dinner will be at the steakhouse restaurant the night before. What about you guys?

 

I do know that having a legal wedding (meaning going through the civil process) does require more documentation and steps to take to be able to get married there. A symbolic one you just have to get your marriage license in the states a few weeks before going down to Cabo.

Is Suzanne Morel from the Riu hotel or from a salon in Cabo? Is she doing your hair/makeup and your bridesmaids?

 

Also, did you call the hotel to get your group discounts? We are paying for a certain number of people mainly the bridal party and close family....we booked their rooms they are just paying for their flights. Did you call the hotel to get the group discount?
