We used the RIU DJ and were very happy with him...it is a company that has a contract with the RIU and they have a few employees so I cannot say if you would get the same fellow as us.

The WC should be able to supply you with a email contact address for you to talk with them directly and answer what ever question you have.

Below is the email address I have for them

HI everyone, I am also getting married at the Palace in cabo! My wedding is october 26, 2012. If anyone has any information how everything works I would gladly appreciate it! As far as the flowers go: do you get to choose your flowers? How many bouquets do you get?

How about the reception? Are you able to have dancing? And a sit down dinner? I've never been to a destination wedding so I'm new to this!

Thank you!

Congratulations!

Did you go with the Royal package or the Caprice Package?  I think with either one, you get the following included:

- Bride's bouquet

- Groom's bout

- 2 arrangements for the arch which then get moved to the dinner table after

- a vase of flowers for your hotel room

- another vase for you to use wherever you want

- 1 rose petal bag

- a little corsage for the cake

My mom is a florist, so I was worried the flowers would be cheesy and done by someone in the hotel, but they are done by an actual outside florist, and working with them has been GREAT.  They give you roses, Calla Lilies, other lilies, tropical flowers, and whatever else is in season.  I think if you want tulips or something they import, you just pay extra.  But we are getting married on Valentine's Day, and we are getting mostly red roses at no extra cost.  Amazing.

Depending on the size of your group, you can have a semi-private sit-down dinner in one of the a la carte restaurants at no extra cost.  We chose the steak house.  If you want a private dinner, you pay extra.  Same with a dance. No dancing in the restaurants at a semi-private dinner. There is a list of extras you can get the Sales Manager (Sakura Ono her e-mail is [email protected]) to send you, which include things like DJ, Dance floor, sound equiment, etc.  We are opting just to go to the disco after dinner.

Good luck with your planning!!

And don't stress out, the actual wedding planners don't contact you intil a couple of months beforehand, which would be outrageous if you were having a wedding at home, but it's actually fine here, because they do so many weddings you basically fill out a checklist for them and it's ready to go.

Cedrick was transfered out of country so we had his replacement who was awesome. sorry I do not recall his name right now. We did the same as you are thinking and ended up just going with our playlist on our Ipod...turned out great. Did I mention they had a wireless microphone for our MC to use. Made it fun as he was able to walk around a bring the mic to guests for little speeches. Great for those who don't like to get up in front of the crowd ;)

Hi ladies,

I am getting married in Nov. 20, 2012 at Riu palace san lucas cobo.  I am very excited, but feel stressed too. Can anyone tell me any information or tips about photographers, flowers, dinner, make-up hair, music etc. I have not heard from my wedding planner yet.  Which wedding planner you guys recommend?  I picked the royal package and wondering i should choose the caprice if I have 20 guests or less. I would love to see some of you photos if you get married at the same hotel.

Alice
