Who is the Best Photographer in the Cancun/Riviera Maya Area? PLEASE HELP!

My husband and I got married in Cozumel this past June 2014, and we had a hard time choosing a wedding photographer.  We had initially thought we would just ask our friends and family to take photos, but we struggled with not having "professional" photos, and didn't want to rely 100% on amateur photos for our wedding day.  We ended up going with Octavio Montes photography, and we couldn't be happier.  Octavio is easy to communicate with, and responded to all of our questions immediately.  His prices are significantly lower than other photographers we had looked at, and he is very professional.  He also offers 10% off to brides! I was very nervous after I heard  some not so great things about the photographer and videographer my resort uses.(i don't want to say any names). So i panicked a little and then started researching. I spent hours reading blogs and forums. We came across Octavio Montes Photography and  fell in love with his work. Some of his wedding videos made me tear up!! He also had great reviews!  We are using his company for both photography and videography.  He has a lot of affordable package options and add ons (one of the most affordable companies I was able to find).  We were able to get exactly what we wanted. He had been so easy to get in contact with and has made this process stress free for me.  We are so happy we booked with Octavio and that I can  cross photography off my to do  list. Ok forum friends, I'm hoping you can help me out. I have spent over a month pouring over photographer reviews and can't decide which one to go with. I am looking for a photographer who is able to capture the special intimate moments that not everyone will notice, doesn't use too much photoshop to doctor the colors in the pictures, and (ok, this may seem strange to mention) who s tall so that the pictures don't look like they are at our hip level (my fiance and I are tall as are most of our guests). Oh, and it can't cost more than $2000 for a 4-5 hour booking. I've connected with a few photographers I really liked based on their pictures, but they cost over $2500 which is not something we can afford. Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

There are so many good ones out there it's hard to make a choice for sure! We're using Samuel Luna. I love his work and it just said something to me when I reviewed his site. I found his prices quite reasonable. I too contacted about 7 or 8 to both look at their site and get their pricing. Absolutely there were a couple that I wished I could have hired but they were out of my budget as well.

 

Could I suggest looking through the vendor reviews on this site? It might help you out a bit reading comments from ladies that have used the various photographers. If you narrow it down to a couple that are within your budget range, I would go back through their websites and look at their work and see if there is something that you connect with in their work. Then contact them. Send messages and explain what you're looking for. I'm sure one will stand out for you at some point that you'll know it's the right choice for you.
