I love doing crafty things, but I have a pretty demanding job that takes up most of my time so I compromised: I paid someone to design my std/invites, but I'm saving some money by assembling the invite pieces (I have 70). If you have the time, enjoy DIY (sounds like you do!), then I would say go for it! Good luck!

Michaels doesn't do passport or boarding pass invite templates but you can find them both on ayleebits.com

We used her concept and designed it in power point.  We had 100 invites, so it was A LOT of work, but people are receiving them now and we are hearing great things so it makes me really happy because they are 100% ours!!!!

Yes and no....$$ wise no i probably spent close to the amount if not more on my DIY save the dates however I am saving alot with my Message in a bottle invites....it is very rewarding though and you can put any unique detail you would like on your invitations! less cookie cutter! I say if you have the time go for it but if you think you will save a ton of $$ i'm not sure that's always the case at least not in my experiance!
