Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton - 2011 Brides!

Recommended Posts

hdismor...I am getting married at 12pm. We went with the Pure Paradise package. What are you going to do between the wedding and the receptions? We only have about 12 people coming with us so I am not doing a private reception. We are booking a table at the Beach BBQ that night, but I'm not sure what to do with the guests between then?  Any suggestions??

Welcome and Congrats hdinsmor!!!

FYI I'm not sure if all of you have checked out the palladiumaddict.net website, but it has great information about the resort and also has a forum.  A recent GP Jamaica bride just posted a review and she said everything was absolutely beautiful and perfect!!!!  Yea!!!!  I can't wait!!!

2 months and 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yaker33, glad to know I am not the only one with that problem...haha!  We actually decided to book lunch at one of the buffet restaurants for our group following our ceremony.  Then, we will ask everyone to go get in their bathing suits and be ready to enjoy a day of fun in the sun.  We will have about 30 people in our wedding, so I felt like that would be too many people to try and do a group activity together.  My fiance actually proposed to me on the beach in the Bahamas and had bought me a white swimsuit to wear that day.  So, I am saving that suit until our wedding day.

We are also doing a beach BBQ that night with our guests, but I believe ours is private....at least she hasn't mentioned otherwise....I should probably look into that!  haha! We are renting the resorts sounds system and microphone for 4 hours, so we will be having a reception on the beach that evening from 6 to 10.   We will do all toasts, speeches, and cake cutting that night.

BeachBridein11, I have not visited that site, so that is great advice!  Thank you!  I can't wait to hear what you think after your big day...which is just around the corner!!  yay!!!

What are you ladies doing for ceremony music?  I really like the idea of the steel drums, but it seems so pricey for a ceremony that will not last longer than 20 minutes.

Also, who are you using for photography?

Thanks, ladies!  Congrats to you both!

Heather

I guess I will go into detail for my wedding... :)

We are getting married on the beach at 4p (Waves of Love package) and we've booked the Steel Drum Band!  :)  It is a lot for the band, but hey! You only get married once!  Plus, after the ceremony you sign papers and there's a champagne toast, so it will be awesome to have that music in the background!

Our reception is at 6p at the Blue Lagoon Restaurant.  We booked the DJ as well as the Zurielamaka group.  My fiance wanted a "true" reception, so that's why we are spending the extra $$$.  He really wanted to make sure our guest felt that we went above a typical wedding since we decided to have a destination wedding and "making" everyone travel.  I was planning on surprising him with the Zurielamaka group, but I was drunk one night and spilled the beans. HAHA  He said he was so happy I told him that 'cause it made him more excited for the wedding and for the guests (though no1 else knows). LOL

Photographer... we are going with SunGold Photography.  Actually their associates since they're cheaper. I did splurge a little for pictures, we have 2 photographers for 8 hrs the day of the wedding, then another 2 hours the next day for a TTD session.  I'm so excited for that!!

Have fun planning!!!!

Everyone's wedding is before mine so I can't wait to hear how it goes for everyone!  Also, I'm not sure if everyone knows this but for those who are having a private reception did you know you can also pay additional for it to go longer?  I've booked the Blue Lagoon and managed to extend it until 1:00 a.m.  I just got the confirmation email back this week.  Of course at a price of $200 per hour and $6.00 per person per hour for drinks, but my fiance thought it would be worth it and wanted a real reception.

Thanks for the information snowbeltchick, which by the way, I hate your id name 'cause it's snowing this morning!!! AAAAHHHHH! LOL  Anyway, that's awesome you got to extend yours!  We thought about it, but decided to just move the party upstairs for the live band.  LOL I read your 1am, haha I'm thinking I won't be able to make it up that late!!!

OK, I have no real purpose to be on here, but to say, Congratulations, and wish you all the best!  We are a couple that will actually be there at the same time as your wedding!  I had thought about asking wifey who just has gone through breast cancer to renew.  But anyways, perhaps we will meet your acquaintance in passing. Again all the best.
