Honoring those that have passed away

I love that I found this thread! My FI and I have 1 living parent between us (his father). I am going to have my sister and his sister walk down the isle, each with a boquet containing one of those memory lockets with our mom's picture in it. I am going to have a memory locket in my boquet with my dad's picture. I want to honor them, but I didnt want it to be sad.

I have to say that planning a wedding with no living parents on my side and his mother passed, it so emotionally draining.

I Love the rose Idea on the chair very symbolic!  I'm trying to figure out what to do for my mom...trying to steer away from candle just because the ceremony is on the beach

I found many pictures online, search "in memory candle" or "in memory wedding"

I am going to do a candle of some sort with framed pictues.

At the ceremony we are also going to place single roses on two chairs that will be left empty

this is really important to us so we may be going a bit overboard...

hope this helps

There was a symbolic flower thing that someone just posted on honoring mothers....I was thinking about putting the flower either by a picture of my mother....but i'm liking the chair thing....than i'll give my FI a matching flower after we are married and we are walking back

This is so sweet!

My mother passed away Aug 30, 2009.  I want to do everything I can to honor her at our wedding and my fiance just didn't want to have it depressing. It is very hard to get married without your mom or someone that was so special to you there and here are some things I am doing to have her there. ~ MyJeanM.com- Great site with some items to honor someone at the ceremony.  I bought the petite memorial vase with her name engraved with the floating candle. Our centerpieces are floating candles, so this will be at the head of our table. The site also has a memorial frame for your bouquet. They are both beautiful items in person. ~ I am also reserving the chair next to my dad and putting the flowers that she would have worn on the chair. ~ I am walking down the aisle to my parents wedding song, they would have been married 36 years this past December ~ I am wearing her wedding dress There are so many ways, it just has to be fitting to you and your fiance
