Any teacher newbies?

Just wondering if there were any other teacher newbies out there like myself?! I'm patiently waiting for the school year calendar to come out for next year so I can book a resort! Ontario teachers - has your calendar come out yet? Are you planning on going during the holidays or are you taking time off unpaid?

I am not a teacher, however, two of our guests are teachers.  We looked at getting married during February break (something we have in Alberta, not sure if it is everywhere in Canada) and also during Easter.  Our travel agent told us we would be paying 400-500 dollars more per person for these weeks as they are extremely popular and resorts can get really busy.  We ultimately decided we would go in January and the teachers would take time off.  Congrats! My fiance and I are both teachers. Many of the people we've invited to our wedding are either paras or teachers so to not have any scheduling problems, we chose July. It would be nice to go to Punta Cana in the winter when a sunshine break is needed, but it just didn't work out that way.

My Fi and I are both teachers too, but luckily all our teacher friends that are going are in the same district as us, so we knew everyone's schedule!  I would have loved to get married in October, but, oh welol, we don't get to pick our vacations, but at least we get summers off!

I'm a teacher   We are leaving the day after school gets out!  It will probably be totally stressful, but after being engaged for a year and a half, I couldn't wait anymore!  Plus, once we get to Cancun, I can melt the stress away on the beach   Happy planning!

So it looks like most of the teachers out there are getting married in the summer. Strangely enough, I never really thought about doing that. Maybe I should re-think this. How do your guests feel about going to an AI in the summer time?

I am a teacher doing a term right now. No perm job for next year. When to have the wedding has been a big issue. It is cheaper for us to go in early November, so we will probably go with that. If I do end up getting a teaching job next year I will have to take the time off.

I'm a teacher too!!  We are leaving the day after school lets out too!!  I also have a bridesmaid who is a teacher and my mother is also a teacher.  It was definitely mandatory for us to pick a date after school was out!  Good luck with your planning!  Maybe you can check with someone at your school to see if there is something preliminary out?

Congrats! I'm not a teacher but I'm a newbie on a shot timeline. I want to get married this May!
