Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello MP Brides (and groom).
Thanks for the shout-out. lol I actually need to get my fiancee on here, because she's the one who is going to care about all the details. So far, we've been working on choosing a location (Moon Palace, duh), getting a TA lined up (using Wendy from Wright Travel, the site sponsors, since I figured she must know destination weddings!), and getting invites out. And this site has been great for all of that. But once we get down to small details, well, let's just say that I mostly want to know where to show up. :D The stuff you guys are doing is so cool. I'm very impressed. That's one thing I'm afraid of, if I get my fiancee on here, is that she's going to see all of the fantastic DIY stuff and decide that she wants to do it too!

Isn't it amazing! I simply love being the first among family and friends to have a DW because they don't know what to expect besides going away and I will be setting the bar for other DW's that they may attend in the future.  It's amazing what some DIYing can do... I think if time permits I will do more things DIYish like Holiday cards etc...

Sorry for all the posts, I guess I didn't feel like reading everything first before I started replying! :)

I got some feedback on our invites, and from what I have heard, peeps are liking them, even thinking they were professionally done!  WOOT!!!  If they only knew mine fail in comparison of some other invites, but what they don't know, HELPS ME!!!!  :)   HA!!!

Career change... I love healthcare tooo much ;-)  But I can say that I am hoping to get some "who did these can will you do" at the wedding.  Then, I can see what my tolerance level for doing things for others will be.  LOL

hahaha!  this is becoming comical!  I sent 2 e-mails with tons-o-questions to Janina and she sent me answers to a couple, and supposedly sent the rest on, but she REFUSES to give up an e-mail address for the wedding dept. at the MP!!!  I have NO idea how you girls got it out of your Miami coordinator, but Janina is NOT budging for me AT ALL!!!!   BangHead.gif  I am really not mad, I have been waiting to use the emoticon hitting it's head against the wall for awhile now, seemed appropriate.  :)

Hi ladies,

I feel awful because I haven't contributed anything to this site since I discovered it, but that's mostly because my life is so consumed by grad school right now that I haven't really done anything for the wedding that can be shared. We did, however, get around to having our engagement photos taken. Here is a link to our photographer's blog if anyone is interested in seeing them:

I consulted with you ladies a while back about OOT bags and have decided to forgo them. Making bags for 120 guests just seems way too overwhelming. FI and I have decided to have some nice favours for the wedding and focus our energies on a thank you gift once we get back.

We are going to do MIB invites and an artistic friend of mine is currently working on a template for those. I asked her to add an "indian" element to them, so I'm excited to see what she comes up with! I will post as soon as we get those ready.

I also wanted to congratulate everyone on their wonderful DIY projects! You ladies really are amazing! Coco, I wish I had your organization skills! Any chance you've got a dissertation template in there somewhere? wink.gif

Sohpia,

With a 120 guest, I wouldn't even begin to do DIY projects.   I think that wedding favors and a follow-up thank you gift once you get back and settled, would be perfect!

Thanks so much for the compliment.  As far as my org skills, I just can't let things sit.  I'm a "let's get it done" type of person.  In addition, with work (I'm a VP and oversee 6 health centers and 50+ staff), just getting a house with FI in May, renting my old house, along with my 11yr old schedule etc... I just can't afford to let things sit.

I contemplated many of times going back to get my Ph.D, however; with the avoidance of a dissertation and more student loans I have no template stored for it wink.gif  however; if I did I would gladly hand it over.

So a week from Monday I am having some of my bridesmaids over to help put together the invites since it is very involved!! But I decided to make one start to finish (minus the stamp/address label) so that everyone could see what the finished product will look like. I took some pictures with my iPhone so here they are...

(I made "postcards" with information about the resort credit because when I started making the invites I wasn't sure if it was going to be extended or not so I did not put the info about it in the passport and then when I found out they were extending it, I didn't have any room inside the passport so I decided just to add it separately...it may give the people that are undecided about coming the added incentive to come!!)
