Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Ndvidul,

your flowers look great!!!!!  I haven't starting working on my flowers yet, but when I did my bridesmaids I used a twist tie to hold the flowers tight at the top the shaped them making round as possible.

Then I tape the middle of the stems together since some of the stems were not the same lenght, my Mom found me some Styrofoams from her bag of arts & crafts tricks for me put the flower stems in so all the flowers would have them same fullness at the bottom ,then I just wrapped the styrofoam with ribbon.  I hope this helps... Happy DIYing

I'm using wooden stakes and using floral tape to tape on the blooms at the top, so the problem arises with the stakes not being flexible.  Going to head to Michael's (they know me by my first name now, hahaha) to see about getting some small styrofoam to put at the top to space out the flowers to make the round shape bigger.

The good news is that I LOVE the colors, and that it's turning out exactly how I want there.  AND the smaller shape here is going to work well for the bridesmaids bouquets I'll make (which will just be the white and green flowers).  I'm going to put some pearls and swav. crystals inside some of the blooms and do a ribbon wrap at the bottom.

Wish me luck!!  Hope I can solve this today ---- been wanting to check this off my list for ages!!!

My wedding is April 19th and I decided to go with the Amethyst Rose package...LOVE purple.  You all are so good at this.....Im a little behind and not a DIY kind of girl (i wish I was). So, Im thinking getting the resort to supply all the decor may be my best bet.

Well ladies,

As DIYprojects for me are winding down (Finish our welcome book, Menus, Programs, Table Numbers & Escort Cards), I am beginning to list out and focus on what is needed for our welcome dinner, ceremony & reception along the lines of decor, vows, etc.  Most of these things will be items to be purchased (chair sashes, tabel linens) etc.  In creating this list, I noticed that I only had one thing missing that would complete my wedding day attire (besides the something borrowed), which was my jewels.  So, I have begun to work with the lovely Chelsea to create earrings & a neckalce that will undoubtedly compliment my dress, sash and birdcage veil.  I'm so excited!!!!

As an FYI if you find me MIA over the next few days/weeks is because I have Jury Duty on the 2nd (we are not allowed to take cell phones or any device with a camera (oh what a boring day this will be), Site Visit to what will be our new clinic, along with the relocation of our what will be the old clinic...  Training on the 14th & 15th.  And this is only the beginning...  I knew these things were coming (minus the Jury Duty) early this year, hence the need to get many projects done done done....

I hope that you DIY projects are going well!

Well up at 6am out the house by 6:30a to get my car inspected, brakes & oil (winter prep)... I was able to work on our wedding ceremony script & vows. So with two hours to wait, I was able to get a lot done.  So after running around and back in the house by 11:30a I decided to take advantage of the rain/snow & friends (not many like to bundle up etc...) We are shoe queens so the rain or snow don't mix well with our collection (I digress).  Anyway, I finished all 55 Guest DND signs (minus 5...those that have extra large holes)   Tools:  Fiskars Circle Cutter, Memories scissors (part of my kit), tweezers, bling & Martha Stewart's ballpoint-tip glue pin.

I plan on drinking through any and all DYI projects!  :)

welcome.gif lyates!  There is so much info on here.  Like COCO said, most of us were not/are not DYI people, but when you want to save some money it's definitely the the way to go.  I am making my own invites, and bringing down my own chair sashes and table runners.  I will get flowers at the resort or from another florist in Cancun.  Good luck!!!

First off, CONGRATS on all of your engagements!!!! So excitingwoot.gif

I stumbled across this website kinda by accident but so happy I did.  You all seem so much more organized than I am.... I think I may need to step it up a bit. I have bought my dress and sent out my invites and everyone has booked.  I keep trying to contact the WC in Miami but I get very vague responses....is anyone else getting that?

I too am interested in the different locations at the hotel. I have 34 people coming and want to do the private reception. I was going to do it outside but nervous about bugs at night.  I am so loving the DIY's Im seeing on here! VERY impressive!!!

Does anyone know if the hotel supplies decor for the reception or just for the ceremony?

YAY!  that's the fun stuff!  :)  I had jury duty in Sept.  I am called every other year, so I FEEL your pain for sure!!!!

Happy Halloween fellow MP brides!

Hope everyone had a great, fun and productive weekend!  I will be receiving my paper on Wednesday for my invites.  I went to Michaels and bought almost every tool that I need.  Now I need to find raffia and either star fish or palm tree beads to attach as well.  I am sure my sister is so excited to start working on these next weekend!  All I know is, is that i am!!  :)
