Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

krsmith,

I defintley agree that his flowers are beautiful and reasonable.  Also, the price of real touch are just as expensive as real flowers therefore, I was going to go with Marvin too. That was until a person here on the buy, sell, trade forum offered her real touch roses at $1.50 and she has enough for me to do my bridal party 6BM/6GM, 3 parents and some extra.  For $100 bucks I can't beat it.  And I don't think Marvin can either ;-)  If the BM's don't want to keep their bouquet's then I'll definitely recycle them on this site.

My BM's will help me transport items.  I'm taking this wedding day related and they will take OOT stuff.

We haven't talked prices yet, but I told him I was on a tight budget and wanted to keep things simple. No matter what his prices will be cheaper than MP so thats a big factor for me. I thought about Real Touch, but they are just as expensive or sometimes more than real flowers, and it would be nice to have one less thing to haul down there and have to bring back too. It probably won't be too bad for me since I only have 3 BM and 3 GM and our parents. But everyone seems to love him and say he is very reasonable!

My colors are blue, with orange flowers. So the 1.50 roses might just be perfect! Who is it that you're using for your Real Touch Roses?

I'm not too sure what your colors are but she does have orange roses (real touch) left and has reduced her prices from $2.50 per rose to $1.50.

Anyone know if we are allowed to just show up to restaurants with 20 or so people?  My family is pretty clingy and I'm sure they'll want to have a few meals with us... I know we get one free reservation (we want to use that for the reception) but what about other meals/days?

I'm not sure but, I Would check with MP that way you could at least be prepared for a wait time and warn the family. I know that i get grouchy when I'm hungry :-( so @ least if known what to expect your everyone will be okay.

Usually, our smallest group for dinner was 14. Sometimes we would call before we left our room, other times we would just show up and wait. The restaurants can often accommodate everyone, but not always at the same table. We would usually get assigned three or four tables close together. The only time we were spread out was at Mo No Hana, the Japanese restaurant in Sunrise. We had a table of ten in the back, a table of 6 on one side and a table of 8 in the middle. Just make sure everyone knows where to go and what time to meet. They were not impressed when 2 people would show up and ask for a table of 18. On the plus side, pretty much everywhere is near a bar so you can drink and snack while you wait. The Brazilian restaurant even hands out pagers.

Thank you, ladies~ If we can call ahead before we go, that might be our best bet.  As for the dinner reservation for 35, anyone know if we'd be allowed to bring a projector or something for a slideshow?  And are you ladies planning to wear a "reception dress" to the dinner?

Oh my! So many of you girls have been so busy, I'm starting to feel behind again. It's great to read and catch up on everyone's progress. Coconoir & KR Smith - one word on your gowns ... Fabulous!!!! I'm still in search of mine but have Sept 1st as my final goal. Looking at some Maggie Sottero gowns that I like and one Allure one that I'm not sure I'll have the courage to wear but am being told that I should consider. Weight Watchers is working, but oh so very slowly. I have signed up for a fitness boot camp that begins next Monday so hopefully I will see  greater results in 6 weeks. I have sent out the Save the Dates and have ordered and received the invitations. I bought the beach bags for the OOTs, but am nowhere close to be being done with purchasing the items to go in it. I am having one big challenge and was seeking advice and hoping for some insight from you girls. I have several guests that are interested in attending the wedding but don't want to stay at the Moon Palace. It's not so much that I mind paying for day passes for them, but I'm concerned that the website info states that it can only be 20% of your guests. Does anyone know what happens if I go over this amount? Will guests have to be turned away?

Has anyone been able to book their desired "locations" at the resort before the 3 month deadline? I am literally going crazy stupid.gif over that situation. I haven't wanted to be too pushy though at this point because I'm not certain on the # of guests that I'll have. I have a feeling that they probably give those with larger bookings first preference, and if that's the case, I may be in trouble.

Hope everyone is well and successfully planning. Welcome  and Congratulations to the newcomers!

Hello, anyone thought of civil vs symbolic?? I am kinda torn between which to choose. On one hand I want everyone to witness our actual becoming of "man and wife" on the other I am nervous of all the proper paperwork (I am once divorced so I need extra paperwork), filing and whatnot in another country and want to be as stress free as possible. I have talked to people who have done both and still cannot choose.  any thoughts?
