Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Does anyone recommend the symbolic ceremony over the civil? I was just reading a thread where she did the symbolic instead to avoid the blood work etc? (I'm deathly afraid of needles...lol) Is it the same package if you do the symbolic? What's the difference? I was thinking that we could just go to the justice of the peace before or after our destination wedding. Thanks ladies!!!

I think its a matter of choice.  We are doing symbolic ceremony along with the complimentary package so that we can add on whatever we like.  With the symbolic we are not required to be there 3 days before the wedding, however; we are getting there early to get things like OOT bags etc settled.  Our Pastor will marry us before heading to Mexico.

So it is exactly the same except for the legality of it?  Do you still have to pay the $300 fee?

My fiance and I just got back from the moon palace and loved the Grand side.  We are getting married their next may and so we went and took a million pictures.  If anyone wants me to send you them, let me know.  We stayed on the sunrise side and loved it but think some of our older family members will like the grand side.  Its more modern and sophisticated.  We decided to block half off in sunrise and half on the grand side.

Not that I have noticed on this particular blog.  Grand from what I have read, is the more laid back section coming in right after Nizuc (which is the oldest of the 3 sections).  Sunrise is more lively and right in the midst of it all.

Thank you so much for making us aware of this situation, Summer Dawn! My reserved time  of 4 PM has also disappeared and is now showing as available on March 24, 2012. I just e-mailed my Miami WC to hopefully ensure that no double booking occurs. Yikes! How long did it take them to fix the error for you?

What a process, but I totally hope that my guests enjoy them and appreciate the effort.  What is everyone else up to with their planning?

Wow. Half on the sunrise and half at the grand? That's quite a haul between the 2 sides. One far end of the resort to the other. It's 1.25 miles minimum, possibly closer to 1.5 or 2 miles from end to end. I think we are going to book all of our guests in the Nizuc side, as the ceremony, cocktail and reception are all there, and we may get a room to ourselves in the Grand side.

I suggest booking in Sunrise. That's where most of the restaurants are located, and the nightlife options are better (Swing Bar, larger Lobby Bar and disco). There's also more entertainment during the day and more variety for activities. Don't forget the huge kids play area at Sunrise. We only walked through Nizuc section a couple of times and noticed it is definitely more low key. Plus, we enjoyed our balcony hammock almost every night, and they are only guaranteed in Sunrise section.
