Gran Caribe Real chapel

Hi,

I am looking into booking my wedding at the chapel at the Gran Caribe Real Cancun.  I absolutely love the look of the chapel but I am having some reservations about the entrance.  I've read that the main entrance is a stairway directly to the right of the chapel.  I feel like this might make a rather akward and short walk down the aisle.  I read that the other option is to walk through the kids club and straigh down to the chapel.  I was wondering if anyone has done this and how it worked out.  Also if anyone has any pictures that would be really helpful.  I want to put my deposit down but I want to be sure of my choice of venue.  Thanks!!

Hi Emily, I was just down there in early December and got to see the chapel. It is truly beautiful with all the glass and looking out over the ocean... just doesnt get any prettier!

The entrance walk was still to me plenty long enough... whether you came out of the building and hooked a right or came down the walkway from back by the kids club I still think the walk would be plenty long enough to play your entry music and I dont think it should cause you concern. That chapel is one of my very favorites in all of Cancun/ Riviera Maya and your guests will be talking about the beauty of it for a long time! Plus your pictures would be gorgeous!

Hey everyone! Im getting married at the gran in July 2011 at the chapel. This is my first time posting, im not to computer literate so let see how this goes. Im still learning how to navigate, this website is GREAT! I was wondering if anyone had any info on the menus...i heard something bout being able to have 2 choices for the guests as long as there was a way for the staff to tell??

Im doing the cocktail hour and reception on the albatros terrace, b/c we can do both right next to eachother, well that's if i dont change my mind again hehe...i keep rethinking the green floor, Im also planning on having tents, anyone ever heard of it? Id like the chinese lanterns hanging from above.

Im getting married in the chapel In November 2011. I have all the normal concerns of planning from so far away. But main concerns is that my guests get the best rates possible. Does anyone know whats th ebest way for the guests to book their flight and hotel? Should they book it on their own through websites like expedia, or should i find a travel agent to coordinate this? I have spoken to 2 different ones already and they seem to be given alot of different option on pricing, but wheni checked it out on expedia, the package price was lower there that what I have been told. Any thoughts??

Hey I had the same concern when I started planning, and after speaking with the coordinator I found it to be cheaper to go through a travel agent. The rate the hotel was giving was a little pricey, I did check out expedia and they were a little cheaper but they never stay at the same price, sometimes they're higher and you have to book it asap. The agent we used got us a great deal locked in the price for the hotel stay, we did have to put down a hefty sum to hold the rooms but we get it back as everyone starts to book. They do have to book their own flight. I also like the benefit that everyone can pay a bit at a time and they don't have to come up with it all at once.

I debated the same issue at the beggining of my planning........my TA is Wendy (she just commented above) and she is awesome! I am so happy that i decided to work with her. she is very prompt to respond to emails and finds everyway to help you out.......best of all, she does price matches! so if the package she provides you is cheaper on another site, like expedia, she will honor that price, but you have to pay for the package in full that day..........she can also provide your guests with packages where they just pay for their flights and a deposit for the hotel upfront and the remainder is paid about a month before travel......this is also a good option for those who dont have all of the money at once........you should def contact her!

Hi I was wondering about booking our wedding at the catholic chapel because of how nice it is. My finacee is not catholic and we were planning on having a symbolic wedding at this resort. Is it still possible to have a symbolic wedding at the chapel? Any help would be greatly appreciated !

As long as you are catholic and your church at home approved the wedding you are fine. You will have to go through all the steps of a normal catholic marriage at your home church and they will file paperwork with the church in Mexico. I think they send a letter and then you bring the original as well.
