Reception Decorations

Recommended Posts

Help!  I'm having my wedding at Dreams Punta Cana at the end of May 2011, with my reception being held on the Himitsu Terrace, and am starting to freak out about the reception decorations.

Most of the people I've talked to this say something like "don't worry about it, the location is so beautiful you really don't need decorations."  I think the location is amazing, however, I would also kind of like to have more traditional wedding reception centerpieces and decor rather than only relying on location.

The obvious problem with this is figuring out what to use, how much it's going to cost, and obviously how to get it there!

I was wondering if anyone else felt this way, if they came up with any solutions, and/or if they would be willing to share pictures of their wedding receptions.

Thanks!!!

If you hire a florist they may let you borrow the vases or some companies rent vases it helps out not having to take so many things when you travel.  Look for your local flower company near your hotel or ask your WC. Like I wanted a candy buffet and my florist is letting me borrow all the vases and not charging me. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Im getting married at DPC also at the Himitsu terrace as well.  I am going to try to bring color sashes and tea candles to make it look nice, since my wedding will  be in the evening.  I am thinking about bringing in some vases and freeze dried real flowers from save on crafts dot com.  I may send them with me on the plane.  Unsure how it will all work out though.

HI,

I'm getting married at Zoetry Agua in Punta Cana, and I felt the same way you did. If your budget allows, I suggest that you work with florist from Santo Domingo the capital of Domincan Republic as they are much more professional.  Again it's not cheap as you have to pay the hotel a % for using an outside vendor, and you would have to pay for overnight stay for the florist staff. Check out bodaclick.com.do  The website is in Spanish, but you can most likely figure it out, and most of the florist has someone that can speak English.  Otherwise, just make sure that you email your wc specific direction and pictures of what you want.  Good luck.

What vendors are you using in PV? We're getting married at a villa in Bucerias and I'm having a hard time finding good ones.

I used Vallarta Webb Planners for wedding planners and they worked with Francisco Salazar for flowers and he did a great job. Let me know if you need any help with vendors. I can give you the name for everything I used.
