So they didnt make you put a deposit down to reserve your date?

Are you reserving a room block? I was told (by my TA)I had to put down a deposit based on the amount of rooms I am blocking.

As of right now, I just have the date, time, and WC info, I haven't actually been contacted by the WC yet. To be honest, all I wanted for right now is just to know my date and time was in the books! I can breathe a big sigh of relief and send out those STDs !!!!

Im sure there would have to be a deposit for the room block (from what I understan that is to lock in rates for guests and also that count goes towards any perks or upgrades you get for having x amount of rooms booked) but this was just to reserve the date for the wedding. As of right now, I haven't put anything down, but I just got the email confirming my reservation request for 1-6-12 at 4. I haven't signed the contract yet. When I called the 800 line I think they said that if you are purchasing a wedding package that there would be 50% of the cost of the package due 14 days after the contract is signed. But since this didn't apply to the comp package I didn't take notes and could be totally wrong. There's a toll free number under their "Contact Us" link on the wedding site. That's probably your best bet! Btw - who is your TA?

No problem!!  I love this forum!  Teresa Stauring?  That's who I just contacted too!  Yaa!

Yea, I definitely am going with the comp package and probably bringing with me and chair sashes or aisle runners that I want, and adding on the videography package.  I'm ungodly blessed with having a best friend who is a phenomenal professional photographer and is going to be shooting my wedding for me, so I don't need the photog package.  I would have ended up paying all that extra money for one of the higher packages just to have decorations and fireworks!

That is great to hear. She has been fantastic. I need to contact her about my date and see if she can reserve it. I'm just not sure on how many rooms I need yet. I guess I will go higher than expecting then cancel what I don't need. Thanks for the good vibes.

You may have already been asked this, but did Teresa request you put down a deposit to hold the rooms for your guests?  My TA wants me to put $100.00 down a person within 30 days of signing the contract and my guests can pay towards the trip in payments up to 2-3 months before we get married.  Does that sound about right?

We did pay a deposit, but it wasn't per person($100 per person seems like a lot to me, we had 70 people so that means I would have had to ocme up with 7k?) and all the money went toward our trip, and it was for the group block.  We had to give the depost when we signed the contract.  We were able to release a % of rooms that werent booked, at different times over the course of the year from the time we signed the contract to 30 days prior to departure.  With Teresa, in order to even make the reservation, our guests had to give 1 night deposit and were able to make payments as much as they wanted.

I would just make sure it is very clear as to what happens to your money if lets say you put a deposit for 50 people and only 30 people book.  Do you get the

Ok, Question... I just received our Wedding date and time confirmation. Lauren (the wedding sales exec.) sent me this in a contract and also included in the email was a Charge Authorization form.  I'm ok with signing the contract right now, but as far as the Charge Authorization Form, why would I need to do this if I'm getting the Complimentary Package?  Perry1217 did you already sign these? I know you're getting the Comp Package to, just need some clarification on what the Charge Form is for.  Tanya Marie do you have any input on this?  We aren't sure how many guests were having yet and I don't want to over or under estimate.

It sounds like I am in the same boat as you because i have no idea how many guests we might have as well. When is the date of your wedding? I am wanting June 2012 and need a few more months to save some money for a down payment, so i am not sure when i need to book with them.
