Ok...so I need advice....I don't expect our guests to give us gifts b/c they are paying a lot for travel expenses....Should I mention that on the invitations?-(ie-your presence not your presents is appreciate) Or is that tacky??  Or is it tacky NOT to mention it.  Help!!!

Tough one.......hmmmmmm  smile105.gif

I feel the same as you.  They spend so much money to attend..Dont they DARE buy us a gift!!

If you feel strongly about it, I dont think its tacky to plan a notecard in your invites indicating that your wedding gift is your "presence" and material gifts are not needed.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Hope it helps

I'm wanting to do the same thing!

From what I've read elsewhere, it was highly recommended not to mention gifts at ALL on invitations, even the desire for no gifts.

Instead, have a wedding website or blog with all of the information for your wedding and mention it there. There are lots of free sites around with easy set up in case you don't want to do too much work on it. The one I'm planning on using is My Wedding because they have unlimited photos and no restrictions on how long it can be up, but I know there are others.

If you have people who won't be able to go online, you could also try adding a line or two on their vacation info packages. My FH went to a DW where the bride had a sheet with thanks and extra information tucked in with the plane tickets. Maybe talk to your travel agent and see what they can arrange?

Good luck!

I'm having another issue regarding gifts. A lot of people we are inviting won't be able to go, but they keep asking if we are registered because they want to buy us a gift. But if we register and let people know, I don't want the people who are traveling to feel like they need to get us a gift. So how do I handle that?

Can you just tell the people who are asking where you are registered?  If you are worried guests will find out you could always put a disclaimer on your website or something that says "you may notice we are registered at Target" etc and then somehow say that you don't want gifts from guests.  It a weird one to word.  I think I said something like "Please, no gifts.  You being in Mexico with us is a gift in itself".  Good luck!
