My Dilemma - Comfort vs. Glamour?

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I'm trying to decide between two dresses and I need help. I have been waivering back and forth for months and I need to make a decision and place my order. Please help!

Dress 1

I feel very much like a bride in this dress. I adore it, however, it weighs about 30 lbs and I'm afraid the heat would ruin my day. I'm trying to decide if the suffering is worth it in the end.

Dress 2

Very light, very comfortable, very beachy. It fits beatifully and I love it. My only concern is that I will regret not going for the over-the-top look.

Questions that will help us help you!:

Are you getting married on the beach?

Are you planning on having a reception with dancing?

I think dress #1 would have a better chance if you were at a gazebo or an inside chapel instead of on the sand.  Again dress #1 would have a better chance if you do not plan on dancing a lot.

30 lbs is a lot or weight!   I think both dresses are great, but I would suggest #2: I think it still has plenty of detail and personality.  Not to mention the mermaid shape will give a bit of sexiness to the dress.

I think your heart has already made the choice for you.

Number 1 is absolutely gorgeous. I too was going to go for a "beach" wedding dress until I got inside the shop and found my dream dress.........

I only plan on doing this once and I am going to have my dream dress

I also think both dresses are glamorous! When I read your text description of dress #2 I was expecting something a lot more simple/beachy. I myself would probably go for dress #2 but if the first dress is what you're really in love with, I'd say go for that one.

I'd pick # 2.  With the first one, I'm imaging you dripping with sweat lugging 30 lbs of dress around!  It really depends on where you're getting married, if you'll have a reception dress to change into and if you want style over comfort.   I don't think you can go wrong with either dress - they're both stunning!
