I think I'm leaning towards canceling the wedding.  There have been reports that people going through the machine also have had to submit to the groping, and I don't think I can handle that.

I'm not sure if it makes the situation better or worse, but after a recent trip to India and bangladesh, you have no choice but to be groped. The women are only patted down by women and it's behind a curtain, but it was a bit *ahem* full on. Right or wrong, this may be the future of plane travel.

oh yea to update- on my recent trip to canada i got the grope. it was modified though i think... nothing up the legs but everything else. they didn't really give me the scanner option. in the end it wasn't horrible, for all they know i could have been smuggling something up my shirt so they paid a lot of attention to my belly, and it was a woman and she was nice about it knowing i'm pregnant. it wouldn't stop me from traveling.

I'm sorry to hear about both of those stories.

 

We canceled the trip to Mexico and are going to do a cruise leaving out of NJ so we can drive instead.  I can't ask my guests to submit to these gropes like it's ok.

I'm not worried about it.  None of my guests seem even mildly concerned.  I guess rules are rules and we have to follow them even if we don't agree with them.  I'm sorry you had to cancel your wedding because of it.  I hope you have good luck with your cruise!
