Explosion at the Grands sunset and princess Resort! November 14th, 2011

I was just watching the news and there was a HUGE explosion at the Grand sunset and Princess RESORT!!! Omg my heart goes out to all of you who have upcoming weddings!!! They think it was a gas explosion but it has not been confirmed as of yet.....

OMG that is awful is the whole resort damaged? Was anyone hurt?

It looks like the explosion was in the reception area. This is so sad there are reports that people died in the expolosion.

 

My heart goes out to those affected by this.

That's so sad.  It sounds like an accident (one newspaper said potentially natural gas methane built up from a nearby swamp). My sympathies go out to the families.

They've now reported that one of the fatalities is a groom from Nanaimo, BC. My thoughts are with the family during this terrible time...

I am so saddened to hear of this tragic accident.  We are getting married there on December 16.  Apparently it was a natural gas explosion in the platinum lounge (the VIP area).  My father was to be staying in this area of the resort.  It really makes you realize how fragile life really is.  My thoughts and prayers go out to those that have lost loved ones.

I just read the article! That is so horrible, my thoughts are with the families that were affected by this tragedy and for BDW brides who have upcoming wedding there

I just heard that the death toll is up to 7 including the mother of the groom, so sad.

One of the ones who passed away was a man from Nanaimo, who was there for his wedding.  So awful, I am just sick to my stomach over this.
