I'm stumped! When should I mail out STDs for wedding?

My wedding is June 4, 2011. I sent out my std's the end of May and I just sent out my invites

I sent my STDs in July and we are getting married in Sept.  My invites are going out around New Years, early January. This way people had/have enough time to book time off work, save $ if planning on coming etc. Plus, you will have a better idea of how many people to expect early on.  That's my opinion.

 

As for the style of STD, Invites and Thank you notes.... this is exactly what we're doing... STD was a boarding pass, then invites are Passport, and a post card as a thank you note. Follow the sequence of life LOL ...

Our wedding is Nov 18th 2011 and I just sent out my STDs exactly 1 year in advance. Invites will be sent out in May which will give people 6 months to plan, save and schedule time off work. The RSVP date will be the end of August which will give me almost 3 months to finalize everything. Since a majority of things, such as OOT bags, number of tables, linens and napkins needed, number of favors, number of centerpieces needed and much more, depends on the number of ppl coming I want to make sure I know plenty of time in advance how many are coming.
