Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

We just got back, our wedding was perfect! Weather was great! Sprinkled a few times, but nothing that would ruin a ceremony.

We had so much fun! We did beautiful beginnings, ceremony was under a gazebo, I brought my own fan programs, and cake topper... I gave it to my wedding planner and she took care of it. We bought the one hour steel pan,and hot and cold hors doeuvres with champagne for our 13 guests... Tons of food! It was amazing!

Congrats @@BethandBill and @Tyrebride2013! Question: did you do a welcome letter or how did you "find" your guests initially? We are staying in France, my parents in Key West and 8 others in Caribbean. We were thinking of meeting for a group dinner (maybe at hibachi place?) the night before which is when many are coming in. We could get everyone on same page (pun intended!) on when/where to meet with a newsletter or welcome letter....just don't know how to do that!

Or can you just text? (Or need an international cell plan?)

@@megthomson I did not as I didn't have guests just our children however, initially we were meeting everyone upon arrival to personally welcome them and hand out welcome letters or have resort place in rooms with meeting time for meet and greet for everyone for dinner or drinks at bar. Resort is very large takes some getting used to but it was fun getting lost and finding new shortcuts or restaurants. We stayed in Italian loved it but all the villages looked fabulous. No texting international roaming rates were crazy I have at&t incoming texts were free for me but not outgoing.. you can also purchase the WiFi for $42.00 I think it was.

@@megthomson I have T-Mobile and a plan that allowed me text for free and all data for free calls over wifi were free but not everyone has those plans so you and guests have to check with your wireless provider. We tried to meet everyone when they checked in because the resort would not release their room numbers. One couple we couldn't find because the list Roxi gave told me they were in one village but the resort had moved them to another and their room wasn't ready upon arrival so we had to search for them. We finally got the resort to transfer call to their room an hour later after it was ready. I had Celeste make us reservations the night everyone arrived at Kimonos. Once we talked to everyone we told them about the reservations. I even had asked guests what kind of pizza they wanted and ordered it prior to arrival so it was ready when they got to resort. At Kimonos welcome dinner we gave out welcome bags I had put together to everyone and gifts to our wedding party.

Cool! Thank you. I called AT&T today to get info on international plans and she recommended hooking into wifi and then using Viber which is for free (international too) texts and calls. I'll have to check it out. I have Voxer now with us like a walkie talkie but gets a bit annoying.
