Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if Beaches has a sound system that can be used to play an I-Pod on for ceremony music and reception music?  For those of you who recently married there - did you use it and how did it sound?  We are getting married on the beach and I'm afraid an Ipod player won't be very loud and won't be heard well or won't sound good.

Just curious, what did you or are you planning to walk down the aisle to?  I know there is a thread on here about this but I would like to know what my fellow Beaches T&C brides are doing.   I'm kind of thinking Somewhere over Rainbow by IZ for either my bridesmaids or for me to walk down the aisle to.but I haven't made up my mind.  I was also thinking Can't help falling in love" by UB40 for my hubby to be and groomsman to walk into.  Decisions decisions.feedback.gif

Hi Mary!

My husband and I were married on the beach this past May.  We did bring our own ipod, and they had quite the sound system set up in one of the beach cabanas, with large speakers on stands.  The music was clear, and they played all the right songs - we had them all ready and in order on the ipod and just gave the list to our wedding coordinator of what was to be played when.

For our reception, we created our own playlist at home, plunked it on their ipod dock and hit play...we didn't have to worry about it all night.  It was perfect! And very well received by our guests.  We had them all give us their top 5 favorite songs and made sure we included as many as we could on the playlist so it was a bit more personalized.

Hope that helps!

Krista :)

We're looking forward to our Beaches Turks & Caicos Wedding. We've confirmed about 22 guests and pending 10.

We initially wanted a beach ceremony, not exactly sure if I want to be barefoot on my big day.  Contemplating the gazebo now. Not exactly sure on reception location just yet. Hoping to go for a short stay in January for a "site inspection".

We will most likely purchase the least expensive photo package with the resort's photographer and definately hiring Brilliant for a photoshoot afterwards.

I'm looking forward to reading your reviews on your Beaches Wedding experiences.

Lizz

The 3 hour private reception is its own thing, the hour cocktail would be added on at an additional charge and you'd then have a 4 hour reception.

Beaches does have sound systems you can use, using either a cd or ipod, they also have music choices for your walk down the isle just your classic wedding songs.

I walked down the isle to pre-recorded music they had on site. At our meeting the day after we arrived we listened to 4 or 5 different songs and choose which one I would walk down the isle to. We only had my sister as a bridesmaid, so we both walked down to the same song - Canon D in Major. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOA-2hl1Vbc

The sound quality was great and I was very happy with it. We also opted to use the iPOD dock for our reception. When we got to the gazebo for the reception our WC asked for the iPOD before anything else started. We put together a fun, but wedding appropriate wedding mix. Our guests loved it. It was a little nontraditional, but so are we.

I just read on Beaches Turks & Caicos Facebook page that they wont be welcoming guests for the next 15 days! I hope none of the brides here have there wedding scheduled! ;(

Official Statement-

"Beaches Turks and Caicos wont be welcoming arrivals for the next 15 days, as the resort is assessing damage wrought by Hurricane Irene and cleaning up landscaping debris. Following this and a full review of property, we will reassess the situation and confirm the reopening date. Guest scheduled to travel to Beaches while the resort is closed will recieve a full credit, valid for one year toward a future stay at any Sandals or Beaches."

So sad! :(
