Sending out the official invite??

How far in advance should I send out my official invitation? I have already sent out STD's, but I want to make sure that my guest have plenty of time to book their trip.

When are you getting married? My wedding is 10/8/11 and I'm already sending out invitations because it'll give guest plenty of time to plan and save. Especially with the way the economy is today. I'm including a pre-travel newsletter with information on the wedding and why I decided to send out invites so soon. As the wedding gets closer I will send out another newsletter.

I'm getting married May 2011.  I sent out a passport STD this past May with all of the detailed information including travel arrangements and hotel information.  I'll be sending out the actual invite early January with a reminder of when the final payments to our TA is and official RSVP's.

The Newsletter is a great idea, I was going to send out invites and wondering how I could convey all the other information.

We are getting married April 2, 2011

We sent out the Save the dates at the end of July

And Im sending out my invites this week

And then Im sending out a pre-travel brochure a month before we leave with luggage tags.

Sounds like you really have it together. My wedding is 1 yr and 5 mths so I have plenty of time. Sometimes it just seems so overwhelming!!! There seems like so many things to do I really need to start cracking or at least keeping a notebook with a list of all the things I need to get doing!!

Yeah it all seems very overwhelming at first, it did for me too, but it all starts to fall into place, and you should definetely make some sort of checklist it helps a lot, I used the destination wedding book for their checklist its great!

Always send it out as early as possible and then follow up with text or email...I even had my dad's girlfriend keep track of everything on a spreadsheet. She's motivated like that.
