Just engaged, planning St. Thomas wedding

Hi there! :)

I'm also looking into getting married at St. Thomas aboard Carnival. How did your experience go overall? My FI and I are planning a March 2013 wedding and are now doing research.  Would you recommend going w/ the Carnival wedding package or going outside of it? Thank you for your time!

We are also getting married in St.Thomas. We are cruising with Carnival in Feb 2011 and are getting off the ship in St. Thomas and using Perfect weddings of St. Thomas. We are getting married just off the beach on Limetree/Bluebeards Beach. Let me know if you have an questions I can try to help you with!

we've decided to go with a cruise wedding. we're still getting married in St. Thomas, but at Lime Tree Beach instead of at the Marriott. The Marriott is such a gorgeous location and I knew a girl who was married there a few years ago and had a great experience, but my FI really had his heart set on a cruise wedding, and I know it'll be an awesome time!

Awesome! We just looked at prices last night and we may just be boarding the Carnival Conquest for March. We just have to pick which of the two to go with.  They're pretty much the same, but the difference is that the first stop on the one is to Half Moon (If we go w/ this one, it lands us to St. Thomas to wed on the SAME wedding date of my parent's hah) and the 2nd one is w/ Nassau (if we wanted our own wedding date anniversary). Are you booking your event through the cruise line WC ? Thank you for the reply :)

You're talking 2013, right?

There are some specific residency requirements for the Bahamas, i think you have to be in Bahamian waters for 24 hours to get the license. I found the USVI requirements easier to deal with. I can't remember the details about the Bahamian requirements.

We didn't book through the cruiseline; we are working with Janelle from Island Bliss Weddings. She's great and her husband is our officiate! We're getting a lot more for our money, IMO.
