Congratulations! and thanks for your review, I'd love to see your pics. I just sent you a friend request on FB Rachael Spirig.

What did you choose for your reception menu? I'm thinking of doing the tenderloin and the chicken but wold like to know what others thought.

Hi Curls,

Your pictures are and truly beautiful and capture all the moments of your special day. Which photo package did you choose? Also, how much was the catamaran excursion and what was the itinerary of that day?

Thank you for sharing your pictures....they're beautiful!!!!

Thanks so much! We got the most expensive picture package and the $600 video package. I wasn't overly impressed with the video, but glad I got it. I did a total itinerary that I included in Welcome Bags for everyone including what time and where they needed to meet. For the catamaran excursion we met in the lobby at 2:45PM. (Be sure  to tell everyone a half hour early because they are running on vacation time.)  Anyway we took a bus to this beautiful beach and got on the boat. I think it was about 5:30PM when we got back to the resort, but totally worth it. My guests paid $65 a person and you had to have at least 35 people to get a private boat. It was awesome. We went snorkeling. I played my music the whole time and it ended up as a dance party as the sun went down. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just an FYI ladies........not to freak you out, but I've had 2 people from my trip have to go to the doctor for antibiotics that can't get over the stomach deal. We had over 30 people sick for at least a day. I wish we knew what caused it, but we can't seem to pinpoint it. Just be aware of what you are eating and make sure everyone knows not to drink the water!

I spoke with someone today that said even brushing your teeth in the water can make you sick and be sure when you shower you don't swallow much. Hopefully that will help!

Curls,

Beautiful wedding and photos!!! I loved everything about them! Glad you had a great time...you guys look so happy. And thanks for the warning. Me and my fiance have been to DR twice before and never got sick. But sounds like it's bound to happen to someone. Crazy.

I've read on here that you can have a symbolic wedding? We are not having the religious wedding, so I'm guessing the symbolic wedding is what we are having (honestly, I feel like I'm missing stuff because of how easy it is planning a destination wedding, rather than a wedding at home). I know whatever option we are doing, there has to be a translator? Has anyone had a friend of their's marry them instead?

Thanks for all the help!

lalala,

We has a symbolic wedding 1.11.13 and I brought my own vows. I highly suggest going with the cookie cutter vows they have because the minister knows them in English. My WC had to translate them to Spanish for him, he read them in Spanish, then my WC read them in English.......it took forever and I don't recommend it. If you are having the symbolic they will walk you through everything when you get there.
