I decided on the beach reception. But I wonder if I should be concerned. Jeanne has not asked me to pay a deposit yet. Aquatracie can you tell me what the process is that you followed when you booked your wedding? I just want to make sure everything is on track for ours.

If I recall, after we confirmed a date and time with Marlene, she had us pick a package and any extras we wanted.  After you gave her those with an estimated guestlist number, she will make up an invoice for you and you pay 30% of that through a wire transfer.  After that, it's pretty much been me emailing her with about 10 questions at a time and waiting for her to respond.  When we met with her in person last September though, she was great.  Super friendly and helpful.

 

We are planning on having the ceremony in the garden area next to the Convention Center (where Bar Higuey is).  The beach gazebo was very pretty but it is sorta right in the middle of the resort and I wanted a little more privacy.

Sorry I haven't been very active on the boards - we are leaving in less than 3 weeks and I have tons of stuff still to do!  I will try to answer any other questions you have.

It was like Sunny said!  We were presented with the different options to choose, we chose the Strawberry Passion  after choosing and paying the 30% I recieved some emails with info and a email that said this from Marlene :

 

We are very happy to inform you that we have verified availability and are glad to

confirm for your

Ceremony Date & Time

Tuesday, December 04

Strawberry Passion Wedding Package

Please note that date and time depends on the availability. If not receiving acceptance

I was able to meet Marlene here in Alberta at the Bridal Show, she was super nice and friendly she showed me pictures on the ipad of the weddings they have and the resort!  She had a special booth set up at the show!

See I have received my confirmation letter. So our wedding is booked and confirmed for the Strawberry package. But She has yet to mention anything about a deposit. That's what makes me nervous I guess.

OK so I finally received an email asking mentioning a deposit. I feel much better. I guess it must be because we were going to use the Mint Breeze package at first and then we switched to the Strawberry Passion package. I guess the lower packages don't require the deposit.

Thanks for the info earlier Sunny   We booked the Tangerine package and just need confirmation from the priest for Jan 7, 2013 still - ugh and have till mid April for the 30% which is fine.  I didn't realize this chapel is on the edge of the lake on the golf course edge - pretty but so hard to find pictures.  You've been awesome and wish you all the best in days to come!!!!!!!  I will keep reading as new info posts - alot of fun and so informative!
