I was just curious about the form we had to get notarized and fill out saying we were single if it had to be printed or could it just be written out? They have an outline on the WEDO website I was just going to copy and paste that and fill in the blanks then leave the portion to be signed blank until I got it notarized....Also wanted to know what the total cost ended up coming to bc I thought I read somewhere they charge per sheet they have to translate and thats X 2 I guess for my fiance and I....confused.gif  I'm going to the court and we're going to say we lost our birth certificates so we can both get another one and I'll send them that 2nd one in case it gets lost or something I still have the original... i'm kinda worried about identity theft but I guess our identity cant be stolen with just a birth certificate

HELP!!! I just got engaged and am highly considering DR for DW wedding in June 2013. After reading about the waiting list... Is it going to be too late to book at Barcelo Bavaro (still not decided between regular and palace deluxe???Suggestions?). Also, does anyone have Marlene's direct email address? I received a response from someone else and they have been terribly slow at getting back to me. I'm still confused about the room situation? How do you know how many rooms to book if you haven't even sent out invites? Do you have to put a deposit down for rooms ASAP? Also, do you book packages based on how many people you expect to come? I am thinking the strawberry but can hopefully upgrade to tangerine if more guests can come. Thanks so much for any info...AAaHhHhHh!!!

Hi Emm

Well the waiting list really was more of a time list...they hadnt opened the 2013 dates to reserve, so the list was basically "waiting" for that to be released.  If it does come back as an issue (the day you pick) then i would suggest choosing a day during the week. Even though these are destination weddings, it seems that most brides still pick Saturday to get married. I chose a thursday in June of 2013 and had no problem whatsoever, even being able to get confirmation on the reception location.

Also keep in mind the regular Barcelo is Adults ONLY.

I booked the tangerine because i knew we were going to have atleast 35 people coming and didnt want to worry about upgrading everything (cake, chairs, etc).  As long as you are changing to a higher upgrade (say from strawberry to tangerine) im sure they dont care...it would be going down that they may not be okay with.

I dont have marlene's direct email address as I have a wonderful TA who does all the communicating. I have seen on here that many are paying deposits for the rooms to be blocked off, but I have not had to do that.  I just have my guests contact my TA and they get their room reservation through her and make their own room deposit at that time, and then have until next april to pay the remaining balance. (This does not include flight).

The best way to know how many rooms to block off if that is the path you want to go is talk to alot of the guests you are inviting. I sent out an email to family members and close friends before we decided to do this to see how many were in, were maybes or just would not be able to attend. This helped me budget, chose the place, and know if it was even a right decision for us. My list of maybes is still longer then my no's and yes's, but like i said i am having my guests make their reservations whenever they are financially able to do so, so I wont have a for sure answer probably till next year and that is not a worry so far.  When it comes time to start ordering OOT bags and gifts and things, thats when it might be a pain. :)

Hope this helped a little!

Have fun BusyBride!!!! enjoy every single minute!

on another note... my wedding time is now 3pm, they couldnt make any changes so whatever, Im going to get married on 03/23/13 at 3 pm.... Is anyone gettting married this early? if yes, how does the rest of the wedding timeline look like? what time does the bride start getting ready, what time should guests be on the church, etc. I dont want the party to be over too early either... Is anyone planning on extending the reception time, do you know how much is that and/or is anyone planning on having like an afterparty kind of thing? like going to the resort bars/clubs?

Thank you!
