Hi  SaMDC1221...

They will assign you a wedding coordinator, it could be either Marlene, Susana or Lianny. Marlene is actually the manager.

They will send you a confirmation telling you that your date and time is available and they will ask for a deposit (depending on the package you choose) as well as the wire information. At that time, you will have to pay the deposit to reserve your date and then you will be ready to go.

Welcome to the forum!

The family that is traveling from Santiago is renting a small bus for about 20 people...they are using a rent a car from Santiago Airport to transport them to Punta Cana. I haven't heard back from Susana and I still don't know if I'm confirmed for 6:00 pm...it sucks because people keep asking me questions and I can't give them a straight answer sad.gif

Do you know if the DJ has lights and a smoke machine ? I was also wondering if I could have the trio play at the Rehearsal Dinner instead of the ceremony ?

JG Corona: They are playing during my cocktail hour as opposed to during the ceremony so I dont see why they wouldnt do it for the rehersal dinner as long as its an hour.

On another note: We plan on paying the cost to shuttle our guests from the aiport to the resort. I am hoping to have everyone arrive around the same times. Has anyone made any good transportation contacts they could share? Its sooo competitive when you get to the PUJ airport there are a ton of companies. We are spanish so I am sure I can haggle someone down a bit but figured if one of you have already made a contact even better. Maybe they will extend us a discount for more business?

trivera,

People that booked with our travel agent had airport transfers included in their packages.  I had contacted the Barcelo directly and gotten the following info that I passed on to our non-TA guests:

Danilsa Acevedo

You may want to confirm with her, but I think the options were:

$45 each way for a private transfer for up to 6 people
$15 per person each way for a shared transfer (where you might have to stop at other hotels for other people)

I'm not sure if this was the most cost-effective, but it worked for us because people were coming at all different times.  But this may be a good starting point for prices for you to comparison shop.  Also, when we were at the airport in the shuttle desk area, I saw a stand that had a sign that said something like "Smith/Jones wedding" (it was obvi some other name) - I can't remember which company it was with but based on that, I would assume that some companies will work with you as a wedding group.

MissJali I originally hired a WC from Destinationweddings.com. I paid a $50 deposit and that was it. The WC sets everything up for you. I started to research the company and found alot of negative comments about them saying they are a fraud and then I also found alot of positive comments about them but I just felt uncomfortable with it. The WC I had was very nice. I was a couple days away from signing the contract I received but once i got the 10 pg contract I really started to feel uneasy with the big deposit I had to make which wasnt guaranteed and the contract had alot of miss spellings (kinda bothered me lol) So I just went to a local TA and the rates I got were actually about $60 less (went through travel impressions company for rates) And I like having someone I can go see and visit and talk to about whats going on. Having a WC or TA is definitely great bc they do all the contacting back and forth with the resort and sooo much quicker than me trying to wait for a reply.

Does anyone have information about Day Passes and how they work at BBPD? I have a couple guests staying at a condo out there and will just come to the resort for the wedding day (my wedding is at 4pm). I wasnt sure how much $ or how long the pass is for. I thought the Tangerine package included 2 day passes but was wrong sad.gif

Also, has anyone did the WEDO wedding documentation yet? I'm scared about sending my original birth certificate away to someone! wacko.gif
