Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe

Recommended Posts

Past or Future Brides,  any suggestions for affordable centerpieces for beach reception.  I originally liked the idea of floating candles but not sure if they'll stay on (due to weather conditions).

Any suggestions are welcomed...thanks

Hello ladies!

I felt relief as I happened to find this forum over the weekend and am still working on reading through everything :) I am recently engaged and we're planning an April 2014 wedding in Punta Cana - we'll be narrowing it down more after an appointment coming up with our TA, but I'm definitely thinking BBPD!

Thank you already for the helpful insights, guidance and advice that is on this forum!!

Hi Beachybride...I too am looking to get married at BBPD April 2014.  Right now we are looking at leaving March 29 so we will be there the first week of April.  We just got quotes back today! Though I love the resort, I am having worries about the wedding itself with respect to all the additional costs that are not noted int he wedding packages. I emailed the resort asking for some information but have not heard back yet. Have you received any information on wedding costs?  I also hate how you have to use their photographers and their decor etc. The costs look like they add up quickly! Let me know if you or anyone else on ehre has any insight for me :)

I am still not fully decided on this resort because of the wedding prices etc...i love the resort itself and it has soooo many amenities for people of all ages which is what I love about it...but I still ahve concerns over the wedding and its costs. (i am soo indecisive!!)

Any insight would be awesome ladies!!! Thanks a million!!

For any past brides...Are there any additional costs that your guest incurred during the course of their stay? Any outrageous maintenance fees or mandatory gratuity charges? Looking for pretty much anything they had to come out their pockets for above and beyond special services such as spas or any shopping of course.

Trish: Honestly the costs really do add up quickly but I think that is a standard thing in DR in comparison to other resorts and their packages. I suppose it really comes down to what you want and your expectations. I am not sure what package your looking at but the Tangerine Package is definetly the way to go in regards to decor as it includes most everything you want for your ceremony. The additional costs of course are things like colored linens, centerpieces, tiffany chairs, vcocktail hour, DJ's, etc. There are also quite a few extra charges if you want a beach reception. They do have the $1300 outside vendor fee but if you read through the thread you can get around that if your photographer is also a guest and considered part of your wedding party.  I will say that when I booked last year I was quoted  one price for the DJ and it doubled this year. Last year I was quoted and had them include $487 basic DJ package on my invoice and this year their basic DJ package is like $830 or something like that. Of course they cover their asses becuase all their marketing materials say prices are subject to change without notice. Grrrr...makes you feel stuck.
