Thank you for sharing your site visit with us. Great info to know! Much appreciated.

We also decided on a beach ceremony, and reception in Bar H. But we're using the rooftop for our cocktail hour in between. Do you think it will be too disjointed to have guests go from the beach to the rooftop, then all the way to Bar H?  I love the atmosphere of the rooftop and want to do pics up there after the ceremony. But if it doesn't make sense to have the cocktail hour there then I'll have to rethink it.

Hi Reign!

I totally agree with Miss Jali- it is your day! :) Where will your beach ceremony be located? If it is in front of the pools, then the rooftop bar is pretty central to that. If it is more towards the adults only- then it is a little out of the way, but it's so beautiful there that I don't think anyone will mind the walk. You can definitely take pics there either way. I agree with you- the rooftop is beautiful. Of all the locations, the rooftop is my favorite.

By the way, I've sent an email 3 weeks ago trying to confirm my date for May 2014 and have not heard from anyone, should I given them a call or continue to wait?

Hi DrVic

I made most of the invitations except the flat cards, I ordered those from vistaprint and the actual pocketfolds from paperandmore.com. It's really not that hard to make the passport invitations! I would recommend investing in a paper cutter which really made it easy for me. I used a template I found on here and redesigned it for months!

Hey girls,

Just wondering which route you ladies found more cost effective in terms of getting rates. Did you get a group rate from the resort for the rooms alone, and just booked the airfare/transport seperately? Or get a packaged group rate from a tour operator (Sunwing, etc.) for everything bundled together?

I know it highly depends on where you're flying out from, time of year and if there are airline seat sales, but just trying to see which option everyone is finding cheaper. Thanks!

Reign I dont think it would be too much. The buildings 1-3 are the quietest to get married in front of, and then you will have about a 5-10 minute walk from there to the rooftop. But the meeting place for the train to take you to Bar H is in the main lobby, so literally 30 steps from the rooftop deck. And they drop you off right in front of Bar H so honestly it would all flow, and be kind of cool to use all the different views and places that are all so gorgeous. Plus it even flows directionally, so there would be no back tracking or walking back to some place you have already been so your guests wouldnt even notice ya know.

Rooftop deck is gorgeous, but very hot just as a warning.

Yes, they have one drink at the cocktail hour- one of those colored fruity drinks. (Our guests brought a bottle of vodka and mixed it with the non-alcoholic drinks there too and that was no problem.)

But at the reception it would be just like at the resort- ordering whatever you want. The tangerine offers international bar (which is an upcharge at the resort) so things like kahalua (sp) or special liquors are included in that.

I think you could def come up with a signature drink after you look at what alcohol is included in your package! That would be a cute idea! Ours was called "no-name" because the lady who made it just made it up, but it was delicious....kind of a slushy, but not a frozen drink in a martini with lime juice, vodka, blue caraco and grenedine and a cheery floated at the bottom.
