Hi Krisco,

Would you mind sending me the 2010 rates, since the 2011 rates don't seem to be out yet? I'd really appreciate it, [email protected]

Thank you!

According to Nicole the new pricing will be coming out this month. All the resort fees are staying the same but the vendors will be going up slightly.

The rehersal dinner or welcome dinner is included. All you have to do is let her know the names of the guests attending & select the restaurant. The times are 6:30 & 8:30 for that.

Met with a DigiPix photographer & am still waiting for him to email me his portfolio. I have to say I'm not impressed with their work at all. I've been in touch with Sungold & Marcia Roberts Photography as alternatives. I think I'm using Marcia because her pricing is more resonable than Sungold.

I am having 60+ guests so I have to go with Aunt Ruby's for my reception. I had a chance to see how nicely it looks when its all decorated because there was a wedding going on there during my stay. They do large round tables of 8-10 ppl. If you are not happy with plain white tablecloths Tai Flora offers tablecloth rental in basically any color. Large round paper lanterns also look really nice with the whole beachy vibe.

As far as the DJ you just basically tell him either exactly what songs you want played or tell him what type of music you want. You can put certain songs like the first dance & father/daughter on an IPOD or CD & just play it from there.

Tai Flora has a website so you can familarize yourself with their style. Any flowers beside whats there have to be ordered & its starts to get really pricey. If there are certain colors you want in your tropical arrangement they definelty work with you. I am buying different types of ribbon to wrap around the bridesmaids bouquets so everyone has a personalized one.

There is a small casino there with slot machines, a game room with TVs pool tables, etc., a cigar bar, and a gorgeous spa. You can use the hot tubs and saunas there even if you don't get a spa service (which was one of the highlights of my stay). At night there is a show on the beach with dancing & fire-breathers.

The place is brand new. The people there are exceptionally nice & accomodating. Its completely "island time" there...which is why I think responses take so long. If I can answer any other questions just let me know :)

Hi Girls,

I'm also doing a site visit first week in December but I wanted to get as much information as I could before hand.

Some of the girls who had been married at this resort previous said ways to have private cocktail events without having to pay anything more. One bride said

"

We had our welcome cocktail party on the night that most people arrived (Thursday) on the lobby balcony from 8:30 to 10:30. We loved this location because it overlooks the pool, which is gorgeous at night. We brought our own DJ, and Nicole let us use the DJ equipment at no charge, which was really nice. The lobby bar is just inside from the balcony, so our guests were able to go inside for their drinks. They also had a bartender that came over and was taking our guests drink orders and bringing them their drinks, which we didnâ€t expect at all. So we were able to have a fabulous get-together with drinks and music for no charge. Canâ€t beat that :) Everyone seemed to have a great time and it gave people a chance to meet each other."

So as long as you book the Lobby Balcony - you know there is a public bar just inside the door which is where your guests can get drinks.

Also another bride mentioned that after her beach ceremony - they had champagne of the beach and then the guests went inside  of

Aunt Rubyâ€s and got drinks (for free at that bar) and then they were in there for an hour before the reception which was at Aunt Rubys anyway.

Does anyone know of other location which can used, but not have to pay the cocktail fee??

Hi Steph

I saw in Lisa's review that she used the Lobby bar for her cocktail hour too. I asked Nicole and she said this was fine to help yourself at the bar, but quoted $150 for use of the DJ set up. I think it is one of those things where it costs but she was doing a favour. In lisa's case I think she had a very big wedding with lots of extras so this was like throwing in a bonus. I didn't want to mention anything to Nicole about this as then she may feel that she has to go by the book all the time - meaning other brides may miss out on her goodwill. Which we don't want!

My wedding is soon so I can let you know of other locations to have your cocktail hour for free. Basically anywhere there is a bar. I know another bride went to the music room. Not sure what the actual names of the bar is but it is in one of the reviews.
