I love this idea and was thinking about doing the same.  The only issue I'm having is what does my MOH where?  I'd feel bad if I had this cool convertible dress and she had to stay in something long through the reception.  but then it might be weird if she had a short dress at the ceremony if mine is long. I really think I'm going to just do a short dress.
