Quick Review of my brother and now sister-in-law's wedding

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone - I'm engaged and having a destination wedding on a cruise more than likely, BUT I went to two destination weddings in September. One being in Vegas for the last weekend in September and I though I would stop in and give a quick review of various things regarding to it.

I was the maid of honor as well so I was involved in quite a bit of the planning. First of all, their wedding was at Chapel of the Flowers, which has really nice chapels and areas to be married in. When we got there though, it all happened really fast. We got out of the limo they provided and were rushed into the chapel. we were told "the rules" that we had to follow during the ceremony, ex: no talking, no pictures, etc..it stunk that family members couldn't take their own photos...they even said you couldn't take any outside, but we did when the photographers were not around. The limo ride was nice though, they were allowed to have up to 8 passengers in it. Anyway, the ceremony itself was ok...unfortunately, my 20 month old was crying behind me for the first couple of mins before my aunt took him out to walk around. I felt horrible about it, but my brother and sis in law weren't bothered by it. Overall it was a decent place to get married, however, it probably wasn't my cup of tea. It just seemed so fast...in and out sort of thing. It worked for them though and that's all that matters. Like I said though, they had gorgous chapels and for the price...I guess it can't be beat.

As far as hotel rooms. They got a basic room at the MGM, which they paid quite a bit of money for and hated the room. My fiance and I stayed at the Flamingo the first couple of nights and just got a regular, non refurbished room and according to my brother it was way bigger than their room at MGM. However, I didn't like the Flamingo..way too busy and too crowded, but it was in a great location center of strip. We moved to the Luxor for the last couple of nights and LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. Rooms were great...not luxurious, but way better than his MGM room and the flamingo room. The flamingo has a great center courtyard area that was good for my 20 month old to walk around in instead of being stuck in his stroller all the time. at the luxor we just stayed in a pyramid room and loved it.

Sorry my review was all over the place...
