Wedding Shower

Is it impolite to invite people to a shower who are only being invited to our AHR and not the wedding. Mostly our exteded family and co-works understand why they are not invited to the wedding and will only be invited to the reception. But can i still invite them to my shower??? my mom and fiance both say yes...i'm not sure...HELP!

I agree, it's totally ok. I think the usual etiquette is not to invite people to a shower who are not invited to the wedding...but since you've invited them to the AHR, that's totally fine.

Absolutely! they may not be attending the actual wedding, however they are celebrating your wedding with you at AHR.

I've been discussing this recently with my FSILs. I thought it might be impolite but they said the opposite. We'll be having our main hen/stag once we get to our destination, but FSILs suggested that some people who can't make the wedding for wahtever reason wouldn't also want to miss out on the hen party!
