Finding a destination

Recommended Posts

We are just starting to look for a great place for  wedding of about 150 people.  How did oyu do research without going to the resorts?  We are looking at Mexico or Caribean.  We need a place that will let us have our own reception.  Do anuy of the all inclusoves do that?  can you be private there?

Well,  researching resorts in the Riviera Maya and reading brides reviews was NEVER this easy....

Figure out a few things.

1.  Kids, are they coming?

2.  Remember that AI (all inclusive) "may" mean less private

3.  Mexico has a piece of happiness for everbody

4.  Check out the Dreams chains...

150 guests, wowser.  Are you sure they haven't been watching CNN or FOX news?   Most of them are likely to be so scared of the drug lords they might not want to come... JK,... hope you can detect sarcasm in my voice here... but I do think your guest count seems high...  We have covered thousands of weddings and less than 5 % had that many folks here...

good luck planning :)

PS... consider a cosmic ceremony to change things up a little... wanna see an example of that: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/post-726/Tal-Terence-Maroma-Spa-Resort-Photos-by-Matt-Adcock

saludos

Like del Sol stated, if you want your ceremony and reception to be private, pick a smaller location that way your wedding and guests will "own" the place for the time you are there.  I visited Mexico in June to check out resorts and I saw a wedding at a large resort where all of the guests (about 50) in the pool were there watching - not so intimate!

Decide on a island or location and then check this site for place suggestions.

I am getting married at Ceiba del Mar in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. - small!

good luck
