Has anyone heard of Hummingbird Hall in Montego Bay?

Hi ladies...well I am leaving tomorrow for MBJ..I am all set with the vendors.. Make up and photography all confirmed.. Alisha at hummingbird took care of my transportation concern....I think what happens is we are used to getting a quick response in our day to day lives so delays from vendors cause us panic that leads to frustration. I am now feeling much better and I know that we will all have a great time....I will take lots of pictures and will give many many details when I return....happy planning to all and have a blessed memorial day weekend....

Hello Ladies,

 

Well I am back and I have to say that Hummingbird Hall is fabulous! I met with Alisha and she was so sweet and seems like she will really try to make your vision come true! The pictures of Hummingbird Hall online are exactly how it looks in person. Alisha gave us a tour of the property to show us what our golf cart tour will consist of and the views are breathtaking! I am so excited and am just waiting to hear back from them so I can book my date!!

I'm so excited, delgadot! I'm really happy to read that you enjoyed your visit. I'm 2 1/2 weeks before you. It will be fun to have someone to chat with for the distance.

 

Did you visit Iberostar, too. How did that go? Are you still thinking of staying there? I'm curious to know how the two compare or any other places you might have visited.

Let me just start by saying that Hummingbird Hall is simply amazing:) I just returned from Montego Bay and I am still on cloud nine from the whole experience. I will post the pictures as soon as I can but I want to give you a review that i hope will help you feel calm if you are nervous, make you feel excited if you are stressed and last but not least if you are still trying to decide on a wedding location in Jamaica (Hummingbird is hands down the place to be)...

 

First the location: We stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and our drive to Hummingbird was about 7 mins...

 

Transportation: I was so stressed before I left about transportation and let me tell you the transporatation is wonderful... Please make sure you have Hummingbird make your transportation arrangements.. I was truly stressed for no reason

 

Makeup: Rashel from Kingston is Wonderful...She is a beautiful person on the inside and out and she will make you feel like a princess on your special day:)

 

Photography: Roan Photography did an amazing job. I truly loved Roans personality and his pictures came out like a magazine article. He is very professional and makes you feel so comfortable...

 

Videography: The husband and wife team that Hummingbird can arrange are amazing.. They are the sweetest young couple and the VIDEO is like a movie from Hollywood...

 

Hummingbird: The Mansion sits in a gated community surrounded by estate homes and the view is spectacular. The staff at Hummingbird is like family and they go above and beyound every minute that you are there.. From the front steps to the back lawn this place looks like an episode of MTV Cribs. It is a picture out of Style magazine and the guest house is WOW...

 

Decor: First of all Alisha is an Angel... You can feel how authentic her spirit is and how much she loves her job... She is not only an amazing Planner and Designer she is just a GREAT person. SHe took my small thoughts and turned them into a page from a storybook wedding.. From my table centerrpieces to my ceremony design it was more than i could have imagined..

 

Flowers: Alisha picked out fabulous flowers for us... My bouquet was huge and the roses, lillies and other flowers were the biggest i have ever seen... It makes me wonder if the flowers in the US are fresh:) lol

 

Cake: OMG... The cake was not only stunning it was good.... We had red velvet and Yellow.... We had cake everyday of our vacation...

 

Food: The food was good... Now we enjoyed the pork and chicken dishes the most.... We also had fish and if I had to pick again i would have selected another chicken dish over the fish....but overall it was still yummy

 

*** Just a thought:) Everyday of our vacation at Iberostar Suites we saw a wedding. Either on the beach our under the grand stair case and let me tell you that I kind of felt a little sad for the brides because their was no privacy and the set up was nothing compared to Hummingbird)****

 

I am already planning what we will do next at Hummingbird... My renewal was more than i could have imagined and my guest all thought that we were treated like celebrities...

 

Thank you so much ALisha, Rosa and staff at Hummingbird... My day was perfect and I mean Perfect... Even the sprinkles of rain were perfect...

 

I look forward to seeing you all for our 10 year renewal and perhaps we can plan a family gathering there next year.. (just because)

atalanta- I had stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites during the same time as Osharp and like she said there was a wedding 3 days out of the 4 we were there and there definitely was no privacy at all. The resort is gorgeous though and we really had a great time but I was not impressed with having my wedding there. We are actually going to stay at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach for the wedding because that resort is beautiful too and the price is more cost effective then the suites.  

 

I had also visited Sunset Beach Resort since it's on my mom's time share and it really was a beautiful resort too. The location for the reception was simply gorgeous the whole resort was open aired which I loved because you really felt like you were on an island. But the rooms were outdated and there was hardly any beach.

 

We had 8 things to accomplish (visit Sunset Beach, Blue Diamond Shopping Center, Suites, Hummingbird, Rose Hall Beach, meet with our photographer, DJ and hair salon) and they were all successful! Over all our visit to Jamaica was wonderful everyone we met with was so nice and the transportation company we used Reggae Tours was the best!

Thanks atalanta! I am still in the process of finalizing our package with Hummingbird, once that is done then I will feel relieved and ready to move on with the fun stuff!!

Good luck, delgadot. We took weeks to finalize our contract. Every reading seemed to reveal something else we wanted to change. I think I read that contract at least 25 times and yet I managed to still have our zip code wrong  in the second-to-last version.  All I can say is that Rosa is the most patient person alive because I would have been pulling my hair out at 20.

 

Also, which hair salon did you visit? What are their prices like? Will they be doing your make-up, too?

 

Osharp--did you organize Rashel and Roan through Hummingbird, too?

 

Delgadot and Osharp, after reading your reviews I feel like all I have to do is get our dresses. That HH will make everything great! Thanks, for that peace of mind.
