Mexican party ideas!!

I'm throwing a shower for a cousin next month and I'm having a mexican theme 'cause on September we celebrate independence.

 

I know I'm mexican and I shouldn't be asking for ideas hahahaha

 

But if you have any they're welcome, I'll show you what my ideas are so far..

For centerpieces I'm thinking about red and green peppers in a glass bowl,

For favors my idea so far are cactus pens or maraca pens.. but I'm not so happy about them..

For the invitation I'm trying to find a mexican girl cartoon (kind of what Jason had on an invitation he posted)

- Decorate with some white papel picado (I think plum party or OTC had some that was white).

- Line up drinks into see thru glasses that are clear liquid on the bottom and float green on the top and add a cheery for the red.

- Buy some real cactus in terracotta pots to decorate.

I will look for the cartoon.

(I love the chiles in a bowl idea - btw).

I was thinking maybe little cactus plants in little pots as favors. They sell mini cactus plants at our WalMart for like 80 cents.

we used everthing we could find and through it in!

 

for center peices we stuck 2 sunflowers in a coca-cola glass and placed talavera places filled with candy. we also placed a large Loteria card on each table.. it was cute.

Loteria games are really cute as favors.

 

Also if you have the loteria cards enlarged they make really cute placemats.
