I gave my traditional gown a beachy train.

Recommended Posts

I wanted my wedding dress to be (traditional) formal looking - lacy and beaded! But, also wanted it to have a beach feel. All the beach wedding gowns I tried on were either too plain or too casual. (We planned a beach ceremony, and a formal reception at the resort pool deck. The guys would be wearing tuxedos.) So, to the horror of the seamstress who altered my gown, I had the lining of the train removed, leaving only the lace overlay. It was exactly what I wanted. It really did make the whole dress! Sometimes you have to dare to be different.
