Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Hi Katrice,

How much are you being charged for Pastor Mark Lykins? I've emailed Bianca inquiring about my invoice. I think it's $550 plus a resort fee of $120 plus tax which comes out $737.50.

Hi Daramcca!

My coordinator is Bianca as well! She just sent me some things but I haven't spoken to her. I'm undecided about my package too..I  was thinking a la carte or tailor made. Please let me know when you find out about Pastor Mark because I booked last week and I don't think I was charged that.

Daramcca,

Do you mind me asking where you're flying from? Also, have you picked out your wedding package, decor and centerpieces?

Hi GraceL,

I am booked for Dec 5, 2014!  Looking forward to it.

Hi Daramcca,

How's your planning going along? I just booked last week, so I've got a lot of things to do and decide! I got Bianca as my coordinator...no word from her yet. Right now I'm undecided on my wedding package, but I will most likely go with the Chill Out or Allure package. I'm having a seaside gazebo ceremony at 3pm (4pm was taken by another bride), reception to be determined, and I'm expecting approximately 40 people. I'm having a symbolic Christian ceremony(getting my marriage license in the states before I go to the DR) with Pastor Mark Lykins...I contacted him directly but he told me to coordinate with the resort...I was billed $737.50 for him by the resort, which is much higher than the $350 plus taxes that previous brides in this forum were charged so I'm inquiring about this bill.

Good luck JennyAdele! Hope everything goes smoothly! Looking forward to your review when you return!

Congrats on booking!  There are lots of details to decide so let me know if I can help.  I went with the Chill Out Chic (I was going to switch to the Aqua package for the cocktail hour and decor upgrades but we have about 100 people right now so more than expected).  Since my fiancé and I are paying for it...that Aqua package will not be happening haha.  We are doing the symbolic ceremony at 3:30 PM.  That is ok that you are doing it early so you will get light with your pictures.  That is the reason why we chose to do it earlier rather than later and I wanted the surprise with my finance walking down the isle instead of pics earlier in the day with him.

We are not using Pastor Mark but I am sure he is going to be great.  I loved the pool feel for the reception and my girlfriend got married there as well so that is what we decided after seeing the romantic feel and a hard surface for dancing.  The only tricky part is that we have about a 2 hour break before the reception since we are having it at the pool but I could not do anything about that since hotel guests can stay in the pool until a certain time and then they have to set-up.  Best of luck with the details!!!! It will all be great.

Hi GraceL,

My fiancé and I are flying in from Nashville but most of our guests are flying from Atlanta and Chicago and a few from AZ.  What about you?

I have chosen most of the decor but still deciding on the centerpieces. With the romantic feel of the pool area...we are keeping it simple with white linens, rose pedals and candles with the Chinese lantern lights around the pool area.  What are you thinking about decor and centerpieces?

@@GraceL I was just about to post about the same thing. We paid our $500 deposit and I was under the impression the next payment was the 50% but we just gor charged $237 and of course we can't get anyone on  the phone

Has anyone ever booked TailorMade..I'm expecting about 40 people and I think Tailor Made is for 34. What suggestions do you guys have as far as packages and how to make it more cost effective.

Ladies…Im back from my wedding at PPC!!

I first have to say that it was an amazing week and I know you will all have the time of your life there! It is by far the most beautiful resort compared to the other resorts we saw down there. All my guests said it was the nicest resort they have been too and want to go back! It is just breathtaking with the beauty and ambience of the resort. So rest assured ladies, you made the right choice in choosing PPC!

The food was GREAT! The service was phenomenal! There was never any issue getting a spot at the pool or beach (and July is even considered high season!). We had beautiful clean rooms and if there were any issues, the resort staff fixed it promptly.  My husband and I we upgraded to the Royal Service when we arrived which was nice because our group was located in the nearest villas to our own. Our butler's name was Candida and she was so helpful and amazing and not pushy at all! We were super close to the pool and beach (1-2 minute walk max!) and the main lobby was just a 5 minutes walk from our Villa (some people complained it was a 15 minute walk but its not if you talk the "eco-path").

Wedding Details; We had our rehearsal dinner at Gabi Beach because they could accommodate a big group easily and it was lovely. We met with Miguelina and we went over all the details with her and then she introduced us to Taimir from Arrecife and we went over the photography details. Our photographer was Lala and she was amazing!! I highly recommend her!

Wedding Day: I booked the Bridal Suite which was nice because your can get your hair done right there while all the bridesmaids get ready with you. They had Champaign and Orange Juice and several hors d'ouevres there for us. Our butler arranged a shuttle to drive us to the beach gazebo for the ceremony at 4pm. Our symbolic ceremony went perfectly with no complaints. We did photos afterwards and had the cocktail hour at the same time…and they extended the cocktail hour free of charge! A shuttle picked us up and took us the the reception at the Main Pool Terrace. It was beautifully set up and the ambience was stunning. We opted for the bistro lights instead of the chinese lanterns because the chinese lanterns were $370! The bistro lights looked amazing and I'm super happy we made that choice! We didn't have a DJ service and instead brought our own wireless speaker system (The "XL Beats Pill" by Dr.Dre) and it worked amazing with our iPod and everyone was dancing. We had The Grill Menu Option 1 and it was delicious! The guests raved about the Lobster. The cake was one of the best cakes I've ever had as well! I got the 2 tier, white and chocolate cake. We all heading to the disco/lobby after the reception ended to keep the party going.

Overall, this was way better than I had anticipated and I wish I hadn't been so stressed about it. They took care of everything and the resort itself (food, staff, rooms, pools, beach, EVERYTHING) was perfect! My guests have called this week "magical, dreamlike, a fantasy, etc…" and I truly think its worth the steeper price. This truly is a 5-star resort and your guests will be blown away!

Let me know if you have any questions because there is so much more I could talk about!

I hope this review is piece of mind for anyone reading outdated/rare negative feedback about the resort. I honestly have no idea why anyone would complain about PPC.

Wishing you ladies all the best with your upcoming nuptials!! Wish I could come along and experience it all over again! lol

Thanks, me too! I went with the Fantasy package and added on a reception. I only had 17 guests though.

Thank you :)

I didn't upgrade any of my flowers. My husband and I had the ivory roses which came with the package. I had my bridesmaids hold parasols instead of flowers which I thought looked really beautiful. I bought the parasols for $8 CAN each from my bridal boutique back home in Canada.

Did anyone else notice that PPC was on the Bachelorette this past week?? That just goes to show you how beautiful and romantic the resort truly is! That should be some good "piece of mind" for anyone who hasn't been there yet

My FI and I have not locked down a location yet (ahhhh! ) but we had originally hoped for PPC. However when we got the quote back from the original TA we ruled it out do to the cost. Reading this forum makes me want to reconsider. ...

I can't speak for the other resorts, but I can speak for PPC and it is a gorgeous and romantic resort to have your wedding at. Price was an issue for us as well when we were choosing a resort, but it came down to what resort "felt" right for us to get married at…even if that meant we would lose guests due to cost. In the end we had 18 of our closest family and friends attend and I ended up loving the intimacy of that.

Picking the resort is the hardest part. You need to decide what would make you and you soon-to-be husband happiest in the end :) I wish you the best!!
