June 2010 Wedding

Helping my daughter plan a wedding in Kauai from the east coast and came across this helpful site.  Looking into Hanalei Bay resort and Moloaa Shangrila . We cant decide whether or not iti s best to have the ceremony one place and then go to a restaurant- we will be about 35 max or do the catering thing and rent a tent .

 

ANy suggestions will be appreciated.  We are also nervoous about foreclosures and wonder how to avoid without  just planning for the St. Regis which is pretty expensive.

Hi Naxos, I was married July 1st in Kauai, at Christ Memorial Church and had our reception at Moloaa Shangrila!  It was the best day of my life and the perfect wedding!  Moloaa Shangrila is by far one of the most beautiful places to host a wedding.  And, I have to say that although you have to use individual vendors which can take a lot of planning you are really able to personalize your wedding to fit your personality.  My pictures from that day are on my photographers website:

We used Ryan Fox for catering and cupcakes and the food was insanely good!  For tent rental we used Kauai tent rental, which I believe might be the only company on the island. We had a day of wedding planner named Lisa and she was excellent!  I forgot the company she works for but, would be happy to PM you with her info if you are interested?  

 

Our rehearsal dinner was at Mediterranean Gourmet restaurant located in the Hanalei Colony Resort.  Beautiful restaurant right on the water.  And the food was excellent!  Jaden the coordinator and her crew were extremely accommodating.

i'm doing research on weddings in kauai. could you tell me how much it was to rent Moloaa Shangrila, the tent rental and catering?
