Edit Button

Did the Edit Button go away or am I loosing it? If it did go away, It might be a nice bonus/feature for user's who are over X ammounts of posts to have. Something to work towards? I always loved that button because some days I cant type well =)

I miss it too, but alas it is gone.  I don't think it's being considered to bring it back...

I'm not sure why from the new forum, but I know in the old forum it caused problems with people going back and deleting their posts so that things no longer made sense.  That's when the old forum moved to the time limit (an hour to make an edit).  It would be nice if it came back, at least for an hour, but I'm just not too sure.

It definitely came it handy -- I've had to correct spelling, links, etc. in many posts and not having it there is going to be a PITA! I guess I'll have to type s l o w e r and proofread better before I hit "submit".

Yeah, the one hour thing was great because I always only catch spelling mistakes after I post.  We had it in the new forum until last week so there must be some reason why they removed it.  Hopefully, it will come back.

I don't think there is a "reason" for it being removed, so much as that it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.  At least that's my understanding of it.  Maybe a mod'll chime in....

I too vote for it to come back!!  It was really quite helpful to go back and fix mistakes.

i can tell you that i wasn't a part of any discussion about it being removed so i don't know if it was a deliberate decision or an oversight.  because i am a mod i do have the edit button so i didn't know it was gone until people started bringing it up.  i will ask tammy about it.
