Morning Or Afternoon Ceremony Pros/Cons

Recommended Posts

We had originally booked our time slot for a 4pm ceremony...but we are now considering an 11am ceremony...we are being married at The Sunset Jamaica Grande Feb 19 2011, and the only have 3 time slots a day...my H2B does'nt want to have to be seperated an entire day from family and friends and neither do I seems like a waste of a day...whats your thoughts, we aren't having a reception just goin to book reservations at one of the restaurants and see if they will sit us close together. so thats not a big deal, and neither are sunset pictures. i live near the water and would rather have the beautiful blue water than the water that looks like my back yard.

Sounds like a personal preference. If you want it early, then its your day, do it at 11! Mine is at 4pm, only because I want a steady flow of events instead of it being broke up for hours at a time. I'm hoping to be able to get in some daylight since the ceremony doesn't last all that long AND some sunset pictures...hopefully the best of both. I'm sure whatever you decide will be great!

  • 2 weeks later...

I wrestled with this for awhile. Originally I wanted to do a later in the afternoon ceremony (3 or 4pm) as I thought it would have a better "flow" into the evening, but after talking to others and our photographer I decided to switch the wedding until 11am. Since we are getting married on the beach and pictures by the ocean are important to us, the photographer said that the colour of the ocean is more vivid in the earlier part of the day, plus there is less likely a chance it will rain at that time (although who knows with the weather!).

I managed to include a reception and catamaran cruise ride during the day for my guests followed by dinner.

But at the end of the day it really is all about personal preference.
