West Jet to Montego Bay

Recommended Posts

SunQuest cannot impose any conditions.  They do not have their own planes and just charter service through various carriers.  They honor all rules in place by the carriers they rent space from.  I'd go with a copy of the internet page and you should be okay.

Hey Everyone,

My travel agent told us right from the start only one bag per person! It is toatlly devastating i know!

But she made it clear. I am not sure why they would do this but it totally is unfair! Get in touch with your TA and see what they say but we book through sunquest as well and it was a definite one bag policy sad.gif

Now I am confused.

I called WestJet directly and the representative said that from flights from Toronto to Montego Bay and return only allow 2 checked bags per guest and 1 carry on bag per guest with absolutely no exception made for additional bags, even if you are willing to pay an additional fee.

So if you bring your wedding dress on the plane that would be your one carry-on and everything else would have to be checked.

oh good call with your FI's clothes! I'll have to do that same.

The restrictions they place on the Montego Bay flights are a bit ridiculous. The Westjet agent I talked to was really nice and she said that usually the flights are always at capacity and because of the amount of weddings generally most people are bring the max amount of baggage allowed.

So hopefully bags don't get misplaced or all we'll have to wear is our wedding dress to wear!

Hey Ladies...

We're booking with Sunquest as well, and our airline was just changed from Air Canada to West Jet!  With AC, we were told they was a strict 1 bag per person policy and that if we wanted to bring an additional bag it would be $20/kg, ie $400 for an additional bag!  Our TA is unclear about what the policy is with WestJet, but as it is still Sunquest, thinks that the allowance is still only the one bag.  That being said, all over the WestJet site, it says that first one is free and second one is $20!

So after reading all of your posts, I'm just wondering what happened? Were you allowed to bring your second bag? Did you have a hard time at the airport?  If you brought your wedding dress on board, did they really deny you any other carry on?

Thanks a bunch and look forward to hearing from those of you who have been there!

BusyBee123, I think you're safe, their baggage policy is pretty clear on the website. But it might be different because you are booking through Sunquest Vacations instead of Westjet Vacations? ..... but you are still ultimately flying with Westjet .... hmm?? Otherwise you're going to have to get real creative .. Oy!

Can anyone confirm to put us at ease?  :)

This is from Westjet's Website...
