If you don't mind me asking, are you doing the civil ceremony with the judge or a symbolic ceremony with Pastor York??

I would definitely look into the Dominican Republic. My husband and I shot a wedding there in July and could not believe how affordable the all-inclusive resorts were -- the wedding was at the Barcelo Bavaro in Punta Cana and the place was gorgeous!!! I definitely think you can plan a great wedding in DR and the region is absolutely beautiful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I can share photos with you too if you'd like to see what the resort was like :)

PS I had my DW in Mexico last year, so I know why you wish it was an option too. But trust me, with the help of this forum, you'll wont have a problem finding a place that is affordable but also provides you with a dream wedding!!! msnwink.gif

I had sort of the same problem deciding. I really want to keep it affordable for my guests but places like St. Lucia, Barbados, etc are way out of that price range. Jamaica is a good option. Dominican Republic is even cheaper, prices are comparable to Mexico. I have never been to Dominican but I've heard that their beaches are amazing which is one of my must have things.

I'm at the same point right now. I'm doing a cruise wedding, but for those with kids, they still have to pay for the kids to go no matter what age they are on a cruise. Not full price, but still have to pay a few hundred per child so that is what is making me second guess myself. we are going out of a port that is driveable for a guests so they don't have to catch a flight. But more importanly, my grandmother can get on the cruise ship for the wedding and then leave after the ceremony/reception since she wont be cruising so that's what I have to keep in my mind. The whole purpose of us doing it this way is so she can be there. lol...that what i think about when i start looking at all inclusives in a different country lol...I think of my granmother not being able to fly. lol...it helped me stay focus.

I was gonna say look into a cruise wedding too! You can even just go cruising for 3-5 days. I'm doing a 7 night "exotic" eastern caribbean cruise, which goes to the Bahamas, St.Thomas, San Juan, Turks & Caicos all for around $500- $800 per person depending on what type of room you choose. If you're able to drive to your port, bonus for you! It's the flights that are bringing our trip up to equaling a trip to Dominican or something.
