Hair and Make-Up - Neysa Berman???

Hi everyone!  I will be getting married at Dreams Los Cabos on January 26th, 2011, and as with most brides, hair and makeup are important and a huge concern  

 

I was orignionally going to do my hair and make-up with Dreams' in-house salon, but only found one review, which wasn't a good one   It seems most brides have opted for outside salon vendors, and most have chosen Suzanne Morel and a few Neysa Berman.  I'm still a little torn between the two.

 

I have spoken with Neysa Berman, who seems super nice, and I have also spoken with Suzanne Morel over email.  Both seem to have very similar prices.  My gut is leaning towards Neysa because it's only myself who will be getting hair and makeup done, and my maid-of-honour has decided on only make-up.  There are a lot of reviews and pictures on Suzanne Morel's services, all of which include large wedding parties.  However, there are not many reviews/pictures on Neysa's services.

 

If anyone has suggestions, pictures, or links regarding Neysa please let me know.  Also, if there are any opinions as to why Suzanne may be better, please share

I am getting married February 1, 2011 at Melia Cabo Real and I just booked Neysa tonight for wedding day services!  I hadn't found many reviews, however I spoke with her and she was super sweet and not pushy!  My entire wedding party--4 bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law and two nieces are getting their hair done by Neysa and one of her stylists and I am getting my hair and make-up done. 

 

I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she was very confident that she would be able to re-create.  Plus, she has two years of Mac training!  That is awesome! 

 

I vote for Neysa!  She didn't have a lot of reviews, but her website has great examples.  Her portfolio has a few of the print work/ads she's worked on, so you know she has to be very talented if she gets booked for modeling/photography shoots!

Hi Sonia,

Just curious how the hair and make-up was with Neysa Berman. Did she end up coming to your hotel or did you have to go to her studio? I'm in a similar situation where I'm having a small party get their hair and make-up done so I'm deciding between Neysa and Suzanne.

Hello!  I wanted to follow up my original post with my actual review!  I really loved how I looked on my wedding day!  I told Neysa that I wanted to look like the most beauitful version of myself and I think she hit the nail on the head!  :-)  I've attached a few photos of my hair and makeup.  Neysa was very professional and very talented.  I did not do a trial run b/c I wasn't sold on any one hair style.  I just wanted my bangs off to the side and romantic and classic.  I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for makeup, so I brought my own lip color and had a photo example of the make up which she recreated without a problem!

 

 

She brought 2 team members with to assit with the wedding party, 4 bridesmaids, my mother, MIL and niece.  Neysa and her one team member rocked it, there was a 3rd team member that wasn't at 100% but still did an OK job.  I was happy with the end result.  The makeup stayed on all day/night, my hair held all day and night...maybe even into the next day if I hadn't torn out all the bobby pins!  :-)  If I were to do it all over again, I would book Neysa!  I hope this helps, but feel free to respond with questions.  Thanks!
