Jamaica December Weather- Humidity (Hair)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer to online or on the forums. Im getting married in December at BRB. I am caucasian and have really thick long hair. Humidity is not my friend for curls. I really would love to have either a side curly pony tail style for the wedding or a half up style... however I am really worried about the humidity making my hair a total disaster. sad.gif   Anyone know how high the humidity gets in December there? Or does anyone have suggestions to help hold a curl in humid weather? I really dont want to have to put my hair up if there is a trick to this! Thanks so much for any suggestions!!!

I was there in mid Jan and I have thick mid length hair.  I found my hair to be frizzy quite frequently.  I would take a really good anti frizz styling product along with you for just the regular days there.  Depending on how good your hair stylists are and what products they have, it might be do-able.  The girls at ROR could do just about anything you wanted without a whole lot of frizz.

Hi There - I had the same concerns...I just got married there in July & it was pretty humid!!!  I ended up with half up & half down to the side....I had the salon do a trial run on my hair before the wedding & it all worked out perfectly....the salon had this spray that they used on every single curl....(sorry, I wish I got the name...but it was in a yellow bottle with a black spray cap - liquid spray vs. aerosol) - by the end of my wedding night, my hair still looked amazing!!!  I'd recommend working w/the salon because they do so many up-do's they have all kinds of product that would work with your hair.  I bought anti-frizz spray & brought it, but never needed it since the product they used kept my hair in place all night :)

Good luck to you!

I live in the Turks and Caicos Islands year round.  My hairdresser loves the products from Moroccan Oil for shine and humidity.  She carries the whole line of stuff.  (I have straight short thick hair so can't comment on curls) I know a lot of people love to use it who live there all year round.  You may want to see if anyone offers it in your area and try it out while the humidity is still up to see how you like it!
